In 2005, he got this job and his first posting was in Balrampur, UP where he worked for around ten years. In 2015, he was transferred to the Lucknow Headquarters of the department and has been working there ever since.
Govind hails from Lucknow. He did his schooling till 7th-grade in Lucknow itself. When his father was transferred to Sultanpur, he did his remainder of schooling in Sultanpur. His father worked as a gardener at UP Mandi Parishad in Sultanpur. In 2004, his father was transferred back to Lucknow and the whole family settled there itself.
Govind completed his BA from Kanpur University whilst on the job. He also did an MA in Sociology from IGNOU in 2015. He also prepared for various competitive examinations but as luck would have it, he could not pass them.
Talking about struggles in his life, Govind shares that his father worked as a peon at a government officer’s bungalow. Both his parents would do sweeping, mopping and other menial work at the bungalow and they would have to be on their toes all the time. It was a really tough time for the family. But in 1988, his father got another job as a gardener at UP Mandi Parishad. However, the financial condition of the family was still weak as his father would not earn much. To support his family financially, Govind even worked as a labourer in the mandi.
His success mantra is to surround himself with people who have positive mindsets. He says that a negative mindset brings people down in life.
When asked about his role models, Govind says he doesn’t consider any particular person as his role model. Everyone who has done some exemplary work in their life, he considers them as his role model. He gets inspired from one of the lessons of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, i.e. whatever work you do, whether it’s small or big, you should always give your best to it.
Talking about his achievements in life, he says that as a student he stood first in his district in an essay writing competition. He was also awarded for his work by the DGP of the department he works at.
Talking about his childhood, he shares that he was a very naughty kid. He would play the whole day long neglecting his studies.
In his spare time, he likes to surf the internet, read books and newspapers to keep himself updated with the latest happenings. He is also fond of writing and occasionally writes blogs on his websites.
If he could go back in time through a Time Machine, he would want to devote more time to his studies when he was preparing for competitive examinations.
Discussing the Covid pandemic, he says that many people lost their loved ones during the pandemic. It was a very tough time for him too as he battled Typhoid and had to be bedridden.
To the youth, his message is that they should play an indispensable role in building the nation and if they work in the right direction then they can change the whole nation for the better.
