A passionate teacher, Girish Sharma is training his students with motivation, a constructive approach and fieldwork, to create future teachers for a better nation.

Girish Sharma has been a lecturer at Vidya Bhavan Teachers College in Udaipur since 2012. He teaches B.Ed and M.Ed students. He is also involved in the In-Service training program of the college. His aim is to create quality teachers so that they could teach their students in a better way and make better future generations for the development of our nation.

Girish lives in Udaipur. He studied in Vidya Bhavan, Udaipur from Nursery to his graduation. He did M.A. in Geography and MBA from Rajasthan Vidyapeeth University. His subject was Science -Math till twelfth grade. But due to very less marks in the 12th final exam, he was not eligible for B.Sc. So, he had to opt for B.A. to continue his further studies.

Talking about struggles in his life, Girish says that till graduation his medium of learning was Hindi. But when he joined MBA his medium of learning changed to English. He faced a lot of problems in learning the Accounts subject and the English language. He went to many people asking for help but he did not get it. At last, he worked hard to learn by himself and finally completed his MBA course and also learned the English language.

Sharing about his career journey, Girish says that he did a marketing job for two years. But he was unsatisfied and so he left it and joined Dainik Bhaskar for three years. To join Dainik Bhaskar, he did a computer course and learned Hindi typing within a week which was also a big struggle for him, says Girish. He also used to write articles for the newspaper.

Being unsatisfied with this job too, Girish started working on the projects in Vidya Bhavan. Continuing this for five years, he thought that he should join a B.Ed course and work as a teacher. Girish worked hard to do B.Ed and M.Ed and then joined Vidya Bhavan Teachers’ College as a lecturer.

When asked about his role models, Girish says that his father is his role model who always motivates him. His second role model is HK Deewan whose guidance made Girish a successful and passionate teacher. He learned all the work related to research work, preparing reports and many other things from him.

Girish feels that teaching is the toughest job. He says that it is necessary to understand the students’ psychology and then only they could teach further.

Girish’s success mantra is to be honest and dedicated and to have the courage to face the reality. Girish believes that what we dream and what we desire gets changed and we have to face reality and manage according to the situation.

In his spare time, Girish likes to go on outings and read different types of books. He likes to play the mouth organ and different musical instruments like harmonium and guitar in his free time.

Girish says that nowadays, students take help from passbooks, Google and coaching institutes for appearing in government exams for teaching. Girish advises the youngsters to read textbooks from sixth to twelfth grade to pass the government exam.

Girish advises that more camp activities should be conducted for the students to make them learn in a different way. The students would learn to collect data from the villages and learn to prepare reports. In the camps, the students would also learn some basic values like caring, sharing and helping each other.
