Girdhari Singh hails from Jalore district in Rajasthan. Currently he is serving as a sub inspector in the Rajasthan Police. Besides his work he finds his passion in philanthropic activities.

Girdhari Singh was born and brought up in a village named Bhinmal in the Jalore district of Rajasthan. He completed his early schooling in his village itself. He completed his schooling from 10th standard to 12th standard in Jaipur. For his college education he came back to Jalore and completed his undergraduation there. After completing his college education he got into philanthropy and worked with some NGOs in different fields. Meanwhile he also continued his studies and later joined the Rajasthan Police. He has been working for the Rajasthan Police for the past 6 years as a sub-inspector. Apart from his job he is also serving as a director and chairman of 5 NGOs. He is also a global peace ambassador of an UN NGO named Art for Peace.

Girdhari Singh says that he always believed in himself. He always learns from his mistakes and tries to correct them. He says that we should always look at the positive side of the people and neglect the negative side.

Girdhari really stresses the need for education in one’s life. He thinks that education is very important in life. He is of the opinion that beside education one should have good interpersonal and behavioural skills.

To youngsters who wish to join the police department Girdhari advises that one should not be complacent after joining the services. The police department gives a lot of opportunities to serve the society and one should leverage it.

Girdhari thinks that having a role model in life is very important. One should learn from the person one looks up to. He considers Swami Vivekananda his role model and takes inspiration from his life.

Reflecting on his childhood Girdhari says that since a young age he wanted to serve the people. He shares that when he was in 7th standard he raised funds to help those afflicted by the 2001 Gujarat earthquake. He was felicitated by the government for this act.

Girdhari wanted to go abroad and do business there. But he couldn’t go as he thought his English was poor. Looking back, he is happy that he stayed in India and is able to give back to the society. He is of the opinion that wherever people go they should always be attached to their villages and their roots.

Besides his work Girdhari also likes to go to forests and do photography. He has also been awarded by Google for some of his photographs. He also likes to travel. He has visited many places of historical significance and importance in India. He also runs an NGO by the name of Youth for India, wherein he provides blood to the people as and when needed.

Girdhari says that this COVID-19 pandemic has been a very difficult time for everyone. It gave a new perspective on life. It made us realise the importance of our families.
