Geeti Ghosh is a school teacher and a child counselor who aims to touch the lives of people through her teaching and counseling sessions. She  is very passionate about her profession.

Geeti Ghosh is a Senior School Teacher. She teaches English and is also working as a Child Counselor. Besides her profession, she has also done Library Management, Career Counseling, and other related activities.

When asked how she got interested in the field of teaching and counseling, Geeti says that earlier she did not want to come in this field, and she always wanted to become an English Newsreader. The popular TV newsreader Rinni Simon was her role model back then. However, she couldn’t go for the career of her choice and ended up becoming a teacher. She says that she also teaches Mass Media to students. She owes the credit for her becoming a teacher to her mother and her husband.

Recalling her childhood memories, Geeti says that she did not have a very normal childhood as she lost her father when she was 11. She says that her father was an officer, and she lost him in a road accident, which always made her complain to God about her father’s death. She adds that she has two elder sisters who were always supportive, however, she still had a very traumatic childhood.

Talking about the challenges in her journey, Geeti says that teaching is a very challenging job. The teaching profession thirty-five years back was so different as compared to the current times with so many new laws. She says that she had faced challenges initially because she had to speak, read, write, and check notebooks continuously for hours. Also, a teacher has to see everything including the character formation of the students and a lot more and has to play multiple roles in the overall development of a student. She says that over the years she has created a good rapport with her students and things have become pretty easier now.

Speaking about her achievements, Geeti says that wherever she has been, she has always been respected by students, colleagues, the management, and other people. She has won numerous awards for being the best teacher, for exhibitions, for best class and best bulletin boards, and more. She says that she has recently won the award for Best Teacher for giving very good results to the school and in the board exams. She says that a few of her students have scored very good marks in the exams, which are her achievement. Moreover, she says that her students are her greatest awards as they are very successful wherever they are.

Regarding her mistakes, Geeti says that she was very wise from the very beginning, and she cannot recall any mistake. However, she says that your mistakes are your greatest teachers and one should learn from them.

Besides teaching and counseling, Geeti is very good at culinary skills. She says that she loves cooking, and it is something that works as a stress buster for her. Also, she is very good at painting, she loves art and craft, and she is very good at designing clothes. She says that she also loves reading or listening to motivational speakers in her free time.

Talking about her role models, Geeti says that her husband is very meticulous, and she has learned a lot from him. Also, her ex-boss from one of the schools she used to teach at, saw her capability and gave her a lot of opportunities to grow.

Sharing her success mantra, Geeti says that she is a very spiritual person and does meditation and ‘guru mantra’ which gives her a lot of inner strength. She says that she is very committed to her profession, and she really wants to touch lives with her work. She also has a YouTube video where she gives tips for the students and parents. She says that these days people lack guidance and her commitment to her work can do wonders for the students. She says that touching the lives of her students is the main purpose of her life.
