A seasoned music director and manager, Geet is thriving in the music industry thanks to the strong musical foundation he received from his father. Geet is a well-known name in television reality shows and has contributed music to several films.

Geet Vani is a Music Director and Manager from Mumbai. He works for the Indian TV reality shows as music manager. He also works as the music supervisor and music producer.

Geet was born in a small village of Jhabua in Indore. He was brought up in Indore. He has received a graduation degree in Electronic Media.

Geet runs his YouTube channel too, where he creates and uploads videos featuring the efforts of background technicians and other crew members.

Describing his journey, Geet says his interest in music started from his family only. His father used to be a stage artist and his sister is a playback singer. After his graduation, he moved to Mumbai in 2011. He wanted to become a singer but started working as an assistant sound recordist. He did many advertisements during this time. After getting exposure to the music industry of Mumbai, he joined a master degree program in Public Relations from Mumbai university. Meanwhile, he was also working for many shows. He expanded his work area and started giving music as a programmer for many advertisements. In 2015, his name came on the silver screen with the movie “Love Shagun”. In 2016, he made his debut with the movie “B.A. pass-2” as a music director.

About his television journey, Geet says that he started working with TV reality shows in 2016 as a music manager. In 2016, his first TV reality show was ‘Indian Idol-9”. From there, he started getting shows like – Rising Star, Love me India, Taare Zameen Par, Swarn-swarn Bharat, Ravivaar with Star Parivar and many more.

Speaking about his mistakes, Geet says he will not call them mistakes, but would like to see their positive side. Geet feels that if he had focused only on singing, he might have achieved a bigger name today. But when he sees the other side of it, he feels that to survive in an expensive city like Mumbai, he expanded his work, which gave him financial stability.

Earlier, for a long time, he used to consider doing graduation in Public Relations as a mistake. But now, when he looks back, he finds that his education has only added value to his personality.

When asked about his role models, Geet says he considers Shaan, the famous Indian playback singer, as his role model. He has been following his singing style since he was very young. His older sister, Priyani Vani, always has been his mentor in the field of music. He also looks up to Satish Dutt, who is the creative director and founder of Indian Idol. Currently, he is following Satish Subramaniam Iyer.

In his free time, Geet enjoys going on long drives and travelling a lot. He always steals time to visit Nathdwara to have darshan of Shrinathji once in a year.

There are two quotes which always inspire him.  They are - “The more you sweat, the more you shine.” and “If you sync with the sun, you will definitely shine.”

Geet suggests to new entrants that one should have faith in their talent. He then urges them to seek in-depth knowledge of their respective fields. He also suggests budding music producers who come from small cities to have some smart business perspective, as the music industry is the fastest growing industry in the country. He asks them to produce for their own label, as it will help them carve their individual identity in the industry.

Geet has one piece of advice for those who want to be singers, that they must focus on our rich heritage of folk music and songs. He thinks that for one who wants to show his talent, folk music is the best medium to showcase their talent.
