Gaurav Sharma has been giving his best in nursing care of critically ill patients admitted to the ICU

Gaurav Sharma is the nursing incharge of the ICU at GBH American Hospital in Udaipur. Earlier he was the Covid Isolation ward incharge.

Gaurav hails from Patiala in Punjab. He was brought up there and had his schooling from Patiala itself. He had a big setback when his father passed away when he was in class three only. His mother, who is a teacher, took care of him and his sister single handedly.

Gaurav did his college and GNM education from Punjab and was in a job there. Once he came to Udaipur in 2015 visiting a relative. He liked the city so much that he decided to settle in Udaipur. He joined Pacfic College & Hospital and worked there for three years. Then he moved to Paras JK Hospital and was there for two years. Finally, he joined GBH American Hospital where he is currently working for the last one year.

Gaurav had a tough time last year when he tested positive with Covid and was admitted into the hospital. He is grateful to the doctors and staff at Paras JK Hospital who took good care of him and he recovered from the disease. He says that as an ICU incharge he has seen many tragedies and has seen families being totally devastated.

Gaurav says he joined the nursing profession driven by a passion for serving. He has learnt a lot from his seniors. For freshers, his advice is to work with their hearts totally in the profession. The freshers should always be willing to learn.

Gaurav thinks education is very important in life. Experience can only be helpful if you are educated.

Gaurav considers his mother as his role model as she taught them how to overcome all adversities in life.

In his free time Gaurav loves to go to the movies with his wife. He also likes playing cricket. I GBH they have cricket matches every Sunday and he participates in them.

On the birthdays of his daughters, he and family go to orphanages and ashrams to distribute food to the needy children.
