Gaurav Sharma is the Principal Consultant and Founder at Diyako Tech Innovations Pvt. Ltd. in Udaipur.

Gaurav was born in Jaipur. Because of his father’s transferable job,  his family had to move to different cities. He started his education in Kota and then shifted to Udaipur. He did his schooling there and also did his engineering in Electronics and Communication. He  got selected for placement in his college placement drive and got the motivation to be more effective in his professional life.

Talking about his journey, Gaurav says that after completing his engineering degree in 2008, he started working with a company as an Associate Consultant for the BFSI sector for three and a half years. Then, in 2011, in a social competition held by the Indian School Of Business, Hyderabad, they participated and scored the 25th rank. This motivated him, and he decided to start his own start-up with his old childhood friend in 2012.

Afterwards, in one year, he went through several experiences and realised that B2C would not work, so he shifted to B2B business. Then they started raising funds for their firm, and they worked very hard. In 2013, he went to Dubai, started his company there, and worked with the Middle East government and various famous brands. Afterwards, he decided to move back to India and worked with the Times of India and Make My Trip.

Gaurav shares that after working for seven years, he got a successful exit from his company when an investor bought it. Then he joined the Entrepreneurs Network and worked there as a core team member. He worked there for two years during COVID time and got the opportunity to work as a mentor for 950 entrepreneurs. Then he also mentored three startups at IIT Mumbai. Afterwards, he left that company and decided to start his own venture again. Currently, he is also working as a consultant for a California-based Tech startup.

Gaurav says that they are providing a tool where you can get synthetic data in any variety, volume, or scale. This synthetic data is one of the upcoming technologies, and they are currently leading it around the world.

Talking about his struggles, Gaurav says that he faced many ups and downs in the business. He didn’t have the proper knowledge how to use the funds, so he invested the whole amount in setting up the machines and faced many issues. He also faced difficulties at the time of the pandemic but didn’t give up and tried hard to cope with the situation.

Sharing his achievements, Gaurav says that he completed his dream of taking admission to the Indian School Of Business, which was an accomplishment for him. His biggest achievement is becoming an entrepreneur, as it changed his whole life.

Gaurav’s role model is MS Dhoni because of his long-term vision, consistency, understanding, and knowledge of the area.

Gaurav’s success mantra is to be consistent, passionate, and set specific goals in personal and professional life.

Advising aspirants to his field, Gaurav says that one should be courageous as there are many struggles in the entrepreneurial journey. One should have the knowledge and skills to use the funds to strengthen the company.

The quote of Peter Drucker, "Management is Doing Things right; Leadership is Doing the Right Things," inspires him a lot. He believes that one must practise leadership and empathy towards the people with whom one is working.
