Dr. Gaurav is a Medical Scientist who also had an interest in Physics. He feels that the medical profession requires a keen vision for details and being a good observer is a must in this profession.

Dr. Gaurav Purohit is a Medical Scientist at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. He has experience of around ten years by now. He is currently working on  research about a Cardiological drug that makes blood thinner.

Gaurav was born in Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh. He did his schooling at St. Joseph’s Convent Sr. Sec. School, Ratlam and completed his graduation from District Homeopathy Medical College, Ratlam. Gaurav has done his Post Graduation from the Indian Institute of Public Health, Delhi.

His father was also a Medical Practitioner and so Gaurav also decided to go into the same field. However, he also had an interest in Physics but gave that up for this profession.

Gaurav feels that to be in this profession, one needs to have keen observation skills and should be a good learner. Observing symptoms and effects of medicines is one of the most important things and hence requires observation skills. Gaurav is also an observer and does not miss minor details. He feels one should also have an open mind and free thinking to catch new viruses and different symptoms to give a viable solution.

He shares that if one has confidence and dedication towards something, struggle time will not be difficult to deal with. With hard work, everything can be overcome and all hurdles can be passed. He feels that with time a person learns a lot and becomes tough.

Gaurav believes that Experience, Education, and Knowledge have their own importance in life. Education prepares us for future difficulties and also gives us life lessons accumulated from ages before us. Experience provides us with the right way to overcome these difficulties. Knowledge is the result of Education and Experience coming together.

He considers Dr. G. Karthikeyan, Consultant Cardiologist and Professor in AIIMS, as his inspiration. Gaurav says that Dr. Karthikeyan gives innovative ideas and is highly dedicated to his work.

Gaurav says that during the Covid lockdown, they had to shift to new methods of observation. Earlier, they used to meet the patients in OPD but they had to shift to online video modes. It became tougher as they had to judge now by just looking at the patient and without meeting them.

Gaurav says that he had a few qualities of a leader from childhood however much of it got polished with time. He has seen many tough situations in life and has dealt with them on his own.

Even if he gets a chance, Gaurav does not want to go back in time to change anything. He feels that everything happens for a reason and it was good that it all happened.

Gaurav is a hardcore Spirituality Books enthusiast. He likes to read and go out with his family and friends in his free time.
