Dr. Gaurav Mehta is a consultant physiotherapist and owner of Rudraksh Physiotherapy and Rehab Center in Udaipur.
Gaurav is from Udaipur and did his schooling in different schools. Until 5th standard, he was in New Era Public School. From 6th to 10th, he attended Alok Senior Secondary School and the final two classes of 11th and 12th from Ascent International Senior Secondary School and did his NEET coaching simultaneously.
Gaurav says that he enrolled in B.Sc. in Geology initially. During this time, his father started having cervical-related issues and he used to take him to a physiotherapist. There, he came to know about the field of physiotherapy and decided to pursue it.
Gaurav dropped out of his B.Sc. after the first year and took admission in Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth for his bachelor’s in physiotherapy.
Talking about his struggles, Gaurav says that shifting from a Hindi medium school in his village to an English medium school in Udaipur was a bit tough for him. Also, during his NEET preparation, he completely lost touch with sports and physical activity and it affected his health. Also, Gaurav feels that people are still not aware of the field and hence explaining and convincing them is a struggle.
Talking about his achievements, Gaurav says that learning about innovations under the guidance of Dr. Shailendra Mehta, director of the physiotherapy department in his college, is an achievement for Gaurav. Also, training under Dr. K.M. Annamalai of the Apollo Hospitals, Ahmedabad is also a great achievement for him.
Sharing about his role models, Gaurav says that his parents are his inspiration.
In his free time, Gaurav likes to play football.
