Gaurav Garg operates a business related to computer education.
Gaurav belongs to Dholpur, Rajasthan, and completed his primary education there itself. He did his graduation in mechanical engineering and a Master in Business Management and then worked for a couple of years in the fields of marketing and sales. Later, he joined his father’s business in Dholpur and eventually started his own business, providing computer education.
The reason behind choosing computer education as a business was that, at those times, computer education was not a part of the compulsory school curriculum. So, Gaurav felt that people had less knowledge about computers and new technology. Hence, he started teaching and grew bigger by entering into the trading of computers, laptops, and related accessories, along with running a computer institute.
In terms of social service, he is associated with some organizations like the Rotary Club, which works for social welfare, and the Chakoli Educational Trust, which gives scholarships to poor children who are meritorious but weak financially.
In the field of business, Gaurav’s role model is Ratan Tata because, apart from being a business tycoon, he has done a lot for society, including taking great care of his employees and maintaining a family-like relationship with everyone associated with his business. Gaurav is highly motivated by him. On the social service front, Gaurav is inspired by his grandfather because, since his childhood, he has seen his grandfather serving people with selfless spirit.
Gaurav opines that education plays a very pivotal role in life. He thinks education, skills, and experience have their own importance. Lacking any one of them affects leadership qualities. Education helps in communicating, but experience helps in satisfying the customer.
Gaurav gives this message to the youth: if you want to be successful in business, you must quit drinking if you do so. Further, he thinks that they lack patience when they start a new job or a venture, so he advises them not to keep high expectations at the beginning. Instead, understand the business, make an effort, give the best input that you can, and everything else will automatically fall into place. Try to create your own identity and be genuine to become successful in life. Furthermore, he suggests doing market research and surveys before investing in any business.
In the time of COVID, Gaurav says everyone has been worried for a very long time, especially businessmen, as businesses are not running at full speed and many industries like hospitality, event planning, and alike have stopped completely for the last one and a-half years. Gaurav also started a new business related to the fashion industry during COVID itself, but due to its second wave, he did not get the desired results. But a positive approach with patience kept him going.
Gaurav says that he has noticed people working for more than eighteen hours a day, which is not a healthy thing to do. So he advises that you should make a schedule for time management and spare time for your family.
Gaurav likes to spend time with his kids and family in his free time. Apart from this, he likes to read and watch educational and motivational videos to gain knowledge. He says, be it any field, knowledge will never hurt you.
If Gaurav gets a chance to go back in time, he would like to spend as much time as he can with his father and grandfather, for he has learned a lot from them. He says his grandfather had a very good knowledge of history and even wrote some articles on history. He would love to learn from him.
