Despite coming from a business family, Garvit has opted for a career in professional photography. After he completes his graduation in the subject, he intends to enter the field and take on big projects for photography.

Garvit Jain is an aspiring photographer and a final-year student intrigued by professional photography. He has an Instagram page named Blotted Pixels.

Garvit shares that he is studying and pursuing his career in professional photography at BVSP College, Pune. His main area of work is architectural and interior photography. Simultaneously, he does fashion photography too. He mostly grabs the projects from Maharashtra, mainly from Pune and Mumbai (being a film city); other states are considerable, depending on the nature of the project.

Garvit says that his family has been running their family business for the past three decades. Hence, it was difficult for him to convince them of his passion for photography. Eventually, he got his father’s support, and his journey started with getting his first camera from his sister in the U.S. when he was in 8th grade.

Garvit says that he was doing photography for five years, until he completed 10+2. He did thorough research for a year for the best photography institution, until he found BVSP, Pune. Now, he is more professional in his work after spending three years in college, and after his final year, he plans to become a part of this industry.

Garvit considers Jim Carrey as his role model in life and is inspired by his saying, “I wish everyone could get rich and famous and get everything they ever demanded, so they can see, that’s not the answer”. Richard Avedon is his inspirational figure in the world of high-key photography, in which the subject is the paramount factor, ignoring the background and props. He follows his work with full spirit. Also, he commends Mike Kelley for his architectural work and loves his image-making art. He adds that image-making is not just a button-pushing game; instead, it requires a lot of physical as well as mental effort to leave a mark on the world.

Garvit manifests his disappointment in Indian parents, as they object to allowing their kids to enter into such a profession. He advises them to appreciate and support their children in doing what they want to do, because not everyone can become a doctor or an engineer.

Garvit advises young aspirants not to choose photography as a career option just because you own a DSLR, and it is not like taking regular street photos for Instagram. It demands a wholehearted artist who has the ability to create something that the world has never seen before and that can directly connect to the viewer’s soul. Also, your work must be worthy of the time and energy spent by someone to look at it. Instead of fancy captions, your work should speak for itself.

If Garvit could travel back in time through a time machine, he would go back and relive his childhood moments of pure love, care, and affection with his true friends. He feels bad for current-generation kids, as they are missing out on having a beautiful childhood by being over facilitated by gadgets.

Garvit says that he is diligent about his photography, maintaining the technical and emotional balance and keeping in mind all the elements, like forms and golden ratios. He is choosy about colors and makes sure that everything else falls into the right place, keeping his work clean and minimal. He loves to play with sunlight in his fashion photography.

Lastly, Garvit quotes his favorite saying by J. Cole, a rapper: “Don’t chase materialistic things because it's like the hamster wheel in which you keep on spinning, but you’ll never reach a point.”
