Garima Hada is an English teacher at Rockwoods High School. She teaches 6th and 7th grade students.
Born and brought up in Kota, Garima did her schooling at Sophia School, followed by her higher studies at Sophia College in Ajmer. Before entering the teaching profession, Garima worked at Infosys for a year, after which she got married in Udaipur.
Recalling her childhood, Garima says that she was a naughty kid and way different from what she is today. She was an average student but had an excellent record in sports.
When asked about her role models, Garima says she draws inspiration from her mother and admires her for her willpower amid all her health problems. On the professional front, she considers her school coordinator, Rajshree, as her role model and admires her for her polite, humble, and calm demeanor.
If Garima could go back in time through a time machine, she would revisit her childhood days, a time when she exhibited stubborn behavior. Garima, on the other hand, says that she has grown more humble and patient over time and wishes she had acted the same way with her parents.On the societal level, Garima, if given the opportunity, would try changing people’s mindsets on religion and casteism.
Garima, who is a spiritual person, recites a beautiful verse given in the bible: "Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." She suggests everyone wait patiently to achieve whatever they want in their lives.
Reciting another verse, Garima says, "I will instruct you and teach you in the way that you shall go." "I will counsel you with my eye on you." On that note, she urges people to seek wisdom and guidance from God.
Garima is inspired by the quote, "Believe you can, and you’re halfway there."
Comparing education with experience, Garima says that though education is important, it is your experience that takes you far in life. She adds that experience teaches you how to deal with people and how to manage your personal and professional lives.
Garima advises the younger generation to respect their parents, who play a crucial role in their success. She adds that when parents become old, it is their children’s responsibility to hold their hand at a time when they need them the most.
In her message to everyone, Garima says that hard work is really important and that there is no shortcut to success.
Besides teaching, Garima is a sports lover who has played nationals in handball.
