Garima was born and brought up in Udaipur. She has had a keen interest in baking since her childhood days. Belonging to a joint family, her childhood memories were happy and mostly involved playing with her siblings. Garima completed her schooling at St. Mary’s Convent School.

Her father encouraged her to pursue CA as a career, as he himself was a CA by profession. Subsequently, she completed her education with a BCom and an MCom. She did her articleship in Mumbai. After becoming a CA, her first job, and the one she is currently working in, was as a director in a bank. She has four years of experience in the CA field. Her experience so far in CA work has been very stressful, according to her.

Baking was her first passion. She baked her first cake when she was 7 years old. She was so talented that she recreated an ice cream recipe by just tasting it once.

Garima engaged in self-exploration and self-development during the lockdown. She tried over 500 recipes and made informative videos on baking. She also spent time with her family. On a personal note, the lockdown was a very positive experience for her, as she had the opportunity to engage, learn many new things, and explore more of her passion. According to Garima, a balance between education and experience is necessary.

Additionally, Garima teaches baking to students, and her advice to newcomers in this field would be to learn and remember the recipes along with the small details. The sense of smell and taste are of utmost significance in this profession that comes with experience.

When asked about her role models, Garima says she draws inspiration from her parents. Her father is a professional man and encouraged her to pursue one of the most difficult professions in the country. His guidance was very beneficial to her. Her mother maintains the balance of the household and is a benevolent lady who inspired her to pursue her passion.

If Garima could go back in time, she would want to go to Paris during her college days for professional baking courses. Garima advises people to remain passionate and dedicated to their goals because success can never be achieved overnight.
