Gajendra is the owner of Khamma Ghani and Harigarh Restaurants in Udaipur. He is from Bhurkiya Village of Dungla Tehsil in Chittorgarh district.
Gajendra did his schooling till the 5th standard in his village. After that, he got admission in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya and shifted to its hostel. Gajendra then did his post-graduation from Arts College, Udaipur. He says that hostel life brought discipline and punctuality in his life.
Gajendra says that he initially tried his luck in the Hotel Industry which didn’t go quite well for him. In 2005, he started his own showroom, Khamma Ghani Arts and Crafts, and entered into the handicraft business. In 2006, he started an export house. After working in this field, Gajendra decided to change track. In 2014, he opened Harigarh Restaurant and in 2017 he inaugurated Khamma Ghani Restaurant in Udaipur. Gajendra says that his restaurants serve authentic organic food which is health-friendly.
Gajendra shares that when he started his business in 2005, he had little knowledge of the field. He had to see losses in the beginning. After that, Gajendra researched a lot and restarted and revamped his business which is successfully running now. In 2016, Harigarh Restaurant was awarded the best ‘All India Multi-Cuisine Award’ by Tripadvisor.
Gajendra says that the Covid pandemic completely demolished the Hotel and Hospitality Industry. His business, like many others, was completely shut. He brought the innovation of use and through cutlery after reopening and the idea became a hit with his customers.
Gajendra says that his father and Maharana Pratap are two role models in his life. He feels that Pratap’s struggle and hardship teach us to be strong and dedicated in life. He considers his wife as a great pillar of support as well.
Gajendra says that Education and Experience, both are important in life. They both together help in increasing one’s confidence and in grooming personality.
Gajendra wants to appeal to the young generation to work hard and not get demotivated by hardships in life. He feels that nothing is impossible in this life.
