Teaching students with lots of enthusiasm and dedication, Foziya Khan has made a name for herself as a teacher.

Foziya Khan joined Happy Home Senior Secondary School while she was pursuing her M.Sc. She always wanted to be a teacher and after her B.Ed was completed, in pursuit of her dreams, she joined the school. She is currently teaching Science to the tenth and senior secondary classes..

Foziya did her B.Sc and M.Sc from Mohanlal Sukhadia University. She was born in Ajmer. As her father was a junior railway engineer, they were transferred to Udaipur. Because of the frequent transfers of her father, Foziya studied in different schools in her childhood. She couldn’t make any good friends during her school time because she kept changing schools, which she regrets. But after she entered college, she made good bonds with many people.

Foziya’s grandfather was a government school teacher in Banswara, where all her siblings were born. Even after his retirement, her grandfather kept working for the welfare of children which motivated Foziya to become a teacher too. She always tries to give her best for her students, and she even gives free tuition to students who are doing well and cannot afford extra expenses. Foziya always enters her classrooms with new and fresh energy everyday so that she could give nothing less to her students that they deserve.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, Foziya didn’t like the method of online teaching. She felt that in online classes it was hard to tell if students are understanding the concepts because she couldn’t see the expressions on their faces, which she would easily read in a face-to-face offline class. The good part was that Foziya enjoyed a lot with her family and she doesn’t think there is going to be such a time again where she would get so much time to spare with her family.

Foziya believes that confidence is very important in life. Even if you say something wrong but you’re confident, no one will question your abilities, which is very necessary as a teacher when trying to answer queries of your students. She also believes that everything cannot be read, some things have to be learned through experiences in life.

Foziya’s inspiration is her grandmother. She used to urge Foziya everyday after her school timings to teach her how to read and write. Her grandmother wanted to learn because she wanted to be able to put her signature everywhere. Looking at such dedication, Foziya was motivated to work hard because she could see an example of no barriers or restrictions of age for acquiring education and knowledge. Foziya also had friends who were from different fields but took up different subjects to teach in school, which taught her that when you have capabilities, there are no limits to what you can do.

Foziya feels that the most important thing in life is time and it’s management. If a person cannot manage time, they cannot do anything. She says that time would not wait for you and if you keep procrastinating your work, you will never be able to achieve success in life.

In her free time, Foziya likes to enjoy with her students as she feels that it can easily brighten up anyone’s mood. She also loves gardening and reading newspapers when she has nothing else to do.
