Eshita Roy is a Content Manager and Developer at Khyathi Solutions in Kolkata.
Eshita hails from Kolkata and belongs to a Bengali family. She grew up in a joint family and had fun. She completed her schooling at South Point High School. Her childhood was quite normal, and she spent most of her time with books.
Eshita shares that she started her professional journey in 2014 when she joined the Institute of Hotel Management. She joined the hospitality sector as an industrial trainee and handled sales and marketing for New Year's Day and Valentine’s Day. Later, after completing her graduation, she was selected as a sales and marketing management trainee at the Fairmont Hotel, Jaipur. She worked there for one year and was then promoted to marketing manager for two years.
Afterwards, she had an accident and had to drop working for one year. She switched to another sector, content writing and development, and worked with a new start-up company for one and a half years. She got an opportunity in book translation work. She worked with an author for 56 days during the period of the lockdown and also indulged in academic writing. After the lockdown was lifted, she joined Khyathi Solutions as a content writer and developer.
Sharing her achievements, Eshita says that, during her journey, she has bounced back twice. Once, when she was 16 years old, doctors told her that she would not be able to do more physical work and not wear metallic things in her legs. Another was when she had an accident and was not able to do much walking or physical work. She recovered from those conditions with her grit and determination. These are her biggest accomplishments that she never gave up and bounced back with new zeal. During the period of the lockdown, she was all alone and handled everything on her own. It was a period of self-realization for her.
When asked about her mistakes, Eshita says that whatever decisions she took were stepping stones to becoming a better version of herself. She always tries to learn from her mistakes or wrong decisions instead of regretting them. She also admits that a lot of her decisions are affected by overthinking. She learned not to overthink so much and to control her reactions and thoughts.
Eshita’s role models are her brother and parents, as they are her guiding lights. In her professional life, she admires each and every person she has met, as they have played a role in her life and taught her something. She considers her first general manager, Srijan Vadhera, her role model, as she learned a lot from him.
In her spare time, Eshita likes to spend time with herself and also loves to read books. She also likes to write poems.
The lines of the poem, "If you can keep your head when all about you are losing theirs and blaming it on you. If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you, but make allowance for their doubting too," motivates her a lot in any difficult situation.
Eshita advises the young women professionals to be strong and urges them to remember the line, ‘No matter what happens, this too shall pass.’
