Dushyant Kapoor is a Writer, Actor, Singer, Film Producer and Director. He owns a film production company named DK Films, specialising in creating sci-fi content. Their content is available on various platforms, such as YouTube, MX Player, and other OTT platforms.
His journey towards becoming a filmmaker gained momentum when, during his tenth grade, he participated in a workshop at the Indian Film & Television Institute in Meerut. There, he honed his skills in writing, editing, and conversion. When the film was released at the end of the day, an actor from the popular show ‘Shaktiman’ praised his work and expressed interest in collaborating with him in future. This encouragement fueled Dushyant's determination to pursue filmmaking as a career.
Dushyant had always been captivated by sci-fi stories. He began his filmmaking career by self-learning and eventually enrolled in a college in Noida Film City. His creative work, including numerous short films and YouTube videos, has garnered praise from various film personalities worldwide. His YouTube channel has amassed 5.5 lakh subscribers, with his superhero content videos reaching 100 million views.
Recently, Dushyant was appointed as the India-level Vice President for Wire-In, a foreign-based media house. His superhero content often blends Indian mythology with modern superhero concepts, adding a unique twist to his storytelling.
He also made a fan-made trailer for ‘Shaktimaan’, which went viral and garnered appreciation from Mukesh Khanna, the lead actor who portrayed Shaktimaan. This success led Dushyant to create his own superhero character, Mahakal, and produce a series of five episodes, which also achieved viral status.
Dushyant always reads comments posted on his channel by viewers and incorporates audience suggestions in his work to improve his directorial skills. Over the years, he has created several successful superhero series, including a revived version of ‘Shakalaka Boom Boom’'. He made another superhero series, ‘Suit Boy’ which gained 75 million views. Eventually, he combined all his superhero series to make a cinematic universe which became a favourite among children.
Originally from Noida, Dushyant's education took him to different schools across the country due to his father's job in the railways. However, he eventually graduated from the Noida Film City as a filmmaker.
Talking about the mistakes he has committed, Dushyant says his biggest mistake was abandoning a smaller project on YouTube when starting a larger one. However, disheartened by the lack of response to the film, he chose to refocus on a smaller project instead. This decision led him to halt his music classes and produce 16 short films within a year.
Dushyant admires Justin Bieber and Sonu Nigam. He credits his friends and family for always being his greatest inspiration and for the valuable lessons that he learned from them. He says he acquires knowledge from wherever he can and uses his time to learn new skills.
