Durga Prasad Patel is a Horticulture Expert working with the Wadi Project Development Support Centre.

Durga Prasad Patel is from the city of Damoh in Madhya Pradesh. However, currently he is residing in the Baran district of Rajasthan. He has done B.Sc. in Agriculture, followed by M.Sc. in Horticulture.

After completing his education, Durga Prasad started working at the HDFC bank as a Rural Sales Executive, where his job was to help farmers get a credit card. Thereafter he moved to Baran district in Rajasthan to work with the “Wadi” Project - a government scheme to provide sustainable and regular income sources to the tribal population and minimize their migration to urban centers.

Durga Prasad is working with the Sahariya community. The Sahariya community has a small population and it predominantly lives in jungles leading a simple life. Durga Prasad and his team work for this community providing them with necessary items to make their agricultural activities more sustainable. They also motivate the tribals to mix up with the mainstream population, keep the necessary health and hygiene and also educate their children. Initially, he and his team had started with around two hundred tribal families, which has now grown to about five hundred.

Durga Prasad likes to sing in his free time.

Durga Prasad believes in helping the people who are in need. He says it gives him peace and satisfaction.
