As an artist and director of an art gallery, Dr. Zaheda provides a platform for emerging talents in her gallery and has conducted over 100 exhibitions. With 25 years of contribution to the art field, painting with a knife has been her signature style.

Dr. Zaheda Khanam is the Managing Director of the Khanam Art Gallery in Prayagraj. Her gallery offers a platform for emerging artists to showcase their work.

Hailing from Varanasi, she attended Agrasen Agarwal Samaj School for her early education. After completing her schooling, she pursued her graduation from Banaras Hindu University. She has engaged in research work at Bharat Kala Bhawan. She holds a Master's degree in Fine Arts from Aligarh.

Dr. Khanam recounts the challenges she faced, expressing sadness over the lack of accessible art galleries for the public in Prayagraj. In response, she converted the first floor of her home into an art gallery. To date, she has hosted over a hundred exhibitions there.

During her college days, she was prolific in her painting pursuits, unafraid to explore beyond the confines of her coursework. Her dedication earned her the nickname "Picasso of the College" from her professor. Continuing to experiment, she began painting with a knife, a technique that garnered significant praise. This unconventional style has since become her signature style in painting.

When asked about her role models, she attributes her success to the encouragement of her parents. Her mother, who even established a school with her dedication, has been an inspiration to her. She is grateful for the guidance of her college professor.

Reflecting on her upbringing, she fondly recalls her childhood memories when she had the freedom to pursue her creative pursuits and was supported by her encouraging parents.

Dr. Zaheda firmly believes in the power of hard work and discipline, emphasising that success is earned through proving one's worth. She advises aspiring artists to fearlessly experiment with their craft, nurturing their distinct styles through extensive exploration.
