Vineet wanted to study Commerce but his family wanted him to study in the Science-Math stream and become an engineer. In his high school, he opted for Science -Maths stream and started preparing for engineering entrance exams. He says that he was not much interested in Mathematics hence did not enjoy studying it much. He couldn’t clear his engineering entrance exam and opted for B.Sc. After completing his B.Sc, he started preparing for various government job examinations as his father was an RAS officer and wanted him to be one as well. But Vineet couldn’t clear his government job examinations. Later he enrolled in MA in Economics as there were some opportunities for Economics graduates in the government sector.

After completing his masters, he got his first job in an NGO in Dungarpur. He worked on a project of the Rajasthan government at the NGO. He worked with this NGO for a year. He had a good experience there. He got to meet many people from abroad and worked with international organisations. He gained the applied  knowledge of Economics and Statistics. He became really interested in these two subjects and thought of pursuing a career in either academia or research.

Vineet started his teaching career with The Study school in Udaipur. He joined as a teacher of Economics and Computer. He worked there for one year. Later he joined another school and worked there for four years. After teaching for around five years at various schools in Udaipur, he did his MBA from IGNOU via distance learning. He also did a PhD at MLSU.

After completing his PhD, in 2006, he started teaching at BN Girls College as he had to shoulder his family responsibilities too. He delivered good academic results. Later he taught at Geetanjali Institute of Management Studies for around five years. Now it’s been seventeen years when he has been teaching at Rajasthan Vidyapeeth.

Vineet says that he stresses upon imparting his students theoretical as well as practical knowledge of the subjects that he teaches. Today many of his students are doing well for themselves.

As a kid, Vineet was more interested in his studies. He wouldn’t engage much in mischievous activities with his friends. Though once in a while, he would go to watch movies with friends and arrive home late and his parents would scold him.

During Covid, Vineet established communication with his students through mobile and computer as physical classes were not possible. He continued his teaching work by conducting online classes and exams. He also acquainted himself with the technological aspects of online teaching.

Vineet considers freedom fighter Subhash Chandra Bose as his role model. He says that Subhas Chandra Bose single handedly revolutionised India’s struggle for independence.

Vineet believes that education and experience are both important. He also adds that an experienced teacher can give his students both theoretical as well as practical knowledge.

To unwind, Vineet likes to travel, watch movies and read good books of literature.

Vineet advises that we need to learn how to manage things when we are faced with unfavorable conditions in life. He says that with education it can be taught how to deal with tough situations in life.
