Visionary Educationist Dr. Urukram Sharma has always championed affordable, value-based education, lifelong learning, innovation, and ethical leadership. Winner of several awards, he was the man behind the launch of Rajasthan Patrika in Mumbai.

Dr. Urukram Sharma is the Director of the Bhabha Educational Group, Jaipur.

Dr. Sharma has extensive experience in the field of Education, particularly in Jaipur, where he has worked across diverse educational and organizational environments. His vision has always been to create high-quality educational institutions that blend modern education with strong ethical values, discipline, and manners, while continuously upgrading learning methodologies.

One of the most important aspects of his educational philosophy is affordability. Dr. Sharma strongly believes that quality education should be accessible to common people, middle-class families, and every deserving child. The core objective of the Bhabha Educational Group has always been to provide fixed and reasonable fees while offering a wide range of facilities and services. His vision ensures that when a student passes out from a Bhabha institution, they emerge as responsible citizens—professionally successful, humble, grounded, and confident.

He believes that wherever such a student stands, they create their own identity, and in simple words, wherever that student stands, the line begins from there.

Dr. Sharma strongly emphasizes that in the field of education, self-upgradation is essential. In today’s fast-changing era, staying updated is not optional, it is necessary. Without continuous learning and evolution, growth becomes impossible. This belief not only shaped his personal life but also positioned him as a role model for others.

With this progressive mindset, alongside education, he entered the field of Journalism and Mass Communication. He spent ten and a half years at Dainik Bhaskar, working as a Special Correspondent. Later, he joined Rajasthan Patrika, where he served for approximately fifteen years in senior roles, including Journalist, State In-Charge, handling responsibilities across Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Mumbai.

Every phase of his journalism career came with new ideas, fresh targets, and challenges. He strongly believes that wherever darkness exists, it is one’s duty to bring light.

When he moved to Mumbai to launch Rajasthan Patrika there, the city was completely unfamiliar to him. Mumbai, a city often imagined as a land of dreams, towering buildings, black-and-yellow taxis, and hurried lives, became a real challenge. He witnessed how lakhs of people arrive in Mumbai with dreams, and how lakhs return with shattered hopes. Amidst this reality, he had to build himself.

In Mumbai, within 51 days, he successfully launched Rajasthan Patrika and placed the newspaper into the hands of the public. He considers this achievement nothing short of a blessing and a miracle by God. He firmly believes that such defining opportunities come in everyone’s life. Often, when failure strikes, people choose to quit and return home. However, Dr. Sharma decided otherwise.

He recalls that the thought of returning unsuccessful felt like running away from the battlefield, a label he could never accept. That night of struggle and sleeplessness became the turning point of his life.

At Bhabha institutions, he teaches students a principle that guided him personally:

“कभी बीच रास्ते में अपना सफ़र न रोकना, जब तक मंज़िल न मिले।”

This belief worked for him at a crucial stage of life and continues to inspire his students.

Through hard work, determination, and divine grace, Dr. Sharma built a respected identity. Yet, his journey did not stop there. He believes one should never focus on what they have already achieved but should continuously strive for what more can be accomplished.

He emphasizes that in today’s era, survival demands multitasking and being multi-talented. Without this, individuals often remain confined to routine jobs and limited aspirations. However, those who do something meaningful are remembered beyond their time.

Life took another interesting turn when Dr. Sharma explored his interest in acting. Alongside journalism, he worked in three Rajasthani films, all of which gained popularity across Rajasthan. He also received Best Actor Awards for his performances.

Later, he expanded further by hosting a one-hour daily live show on 92.7 BIG FM (Reliance Group), proving once again that growth comes from embracing new challenges.

He often reflects on a famous thought by Premchand:

“समय नहीं है कहना उनका बहाना होता है, जो कुछ करना ही नहीं चाहते।”

Time, he believes, is the same for everyone—24 hours. Success depends on how one chooses to utilize it. He stresses the importance of analyzing how time is spent, as lost time never returns.

Academically, Dr. Sharma has always been driven. Coming from a commerce background, he completed his M.Com, followed by a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication. Wanting to stand apart, and motivated by his wife, he pursued further studies, completing an MA in Political Science, and later earning a PhD, all without taking breaks from work.

He balanced journalism, organizational leadership, and academics simultaneously. While achievements may appear effortless, he emphasizes that they came only through relentless hard work.

When it comes to role models, Dr. Urukram Sharma believes that role models change as one grows through different stages and fields of life. He considers the idea of having only one role model a myth. Inspiration evolves with experience.

When founding the Bhabha Educational Group, Dr. Homi Jehangir Bhabha, India’s renowned nuclear scientist, served as a guiding inspiration to him. Dr. Sharma believes Dr. Bhabha left the world too early, or he would have contributed even more to the nation’s scientific advancement. Inspired by his legacy, the institution was named after him, with a strong focus on science, technology, IT, innovation, and project-based learning.

Director of the Bhabha Educational Group, Jaipur, Dr. Urukram Sharma ensured that whatever growth he pursued personally, he extended the same opportunities to his students. Along this journey, he also wrote poems and stories, further expressing his creative side.

He firmly believes that pausing in life marks the beginning of failure. Hence, learning must never stop.

Driven by curiosity, he spent nearly three years studying Astrology, which he views as a science rooted in mathematics and celestial calculations. When nearly 90% of his calculations proved accurate, he felt confident that he had mastered yet another discipline.

He further studied Vastu Shastra, understanding its connection with astrology and its impact on human life. He explains that just as incorrect medical treatment can cause harm, improper structural planning in homes can disturb mental peace, prosperity, and health. According to him, correct placement of water tanks, bedrooms, toilets, and temples can bring harmony and balance.

For his contributions, Dr. Urukram Sharma has been honored multiple times, including recognition from the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand (twice), former President of India Pratibha Patil, and former Governor of Rajasthan, Shri Anshuman Singh.

Despite these achievements, Dr. Urukram Sharma firmly states that his journey is still ongoing. He has much more to accomplish, as he believes there is no option for pause, only progress.

Recalling his childhood, Dr. Urukram Sharma shares that he was quite mischievous during his early years and found joy in harmless mischief. However, he never engaged in fights or did anything that would hurt someone or cause pain. Even today, he believes in not hurting others, as one feels pain within oneself when causing pain to others. According to him, if you empathize with others’ pain, positivity surrounds you, and you, in turn, spread positivity to those around you.

He recalls an important incident from his school days that changed his life completely. Dr. Sharma studied at Maheshwari School, Jaipur. During his 10th standard, he was deeply involved in mischief and did not focus much on studies. When the half-yearly examination results were declared, it came as a shock—he had failed in all three optional commerce subjects. During the parent-teacher meeting, his parents saw the result and, in front of his teachers and classmates, he was slapped. He mentions that this was the first and the last slap he ever received in his life.

Though the incident hurt him deeply and caused embarrassment, that moment became a turning point. He accepted it as a challenge rather than taking it lightly. As a result, in the final examinations of all three optional subjects, he scored distinctions, achieving more than 75 percent marks. From that moment onward, he never looked back.

Dr. Urukram Sharma shares that he never treated studies as mere memorization. He always believed in clarity of concepts. Even today, when interacting with students, he advises them never to cram without understanding. He encourages students to ask questions—why, what, how—even ten times if needed, until the concept becomes clear. According to him, when concepts are strong, students can solve any question from within the chapter during examinations with confidence and ease.

At Bhabha School, this philosophy is actively practiced. Teachers do not limit students to textbook questions at the end of chapters. Instead, they design their own questions from anywhere within the chapter. Students are taught to understand concepts such as what something is, why it exists, how it developed, and why it was invented. This method helps clear multiple concepts at once, making learning smooth and effective.

Dr. Sharma believes that learning can happen from anyone—whether a child or an elder. All one needs is humility and the ability to grasp knowledge.

Sharing another personal incident, he talks about his marriage, which took place in a time before mobile phones and social media. Communication happened through handwritten letters. His wife, who comes from a Hindi literature background, would gently point out language and grammatical mistakes in his letters while replying. Being from a commerce background, he credits this learning process for improving his language skills. Today, he ensures accuracy even in the smallest details, such as a ‘bindu’ and ‘matra’.

He considers his wife not just a life partner but also a friend and mentor who motivated him to pursue higher education. He went on to complete his PhD and became the first person in Rajasthan—and possibly in India—to earn a PhD while working within his own organization. His research was based on Rajasthan Patrika, making him the first journalist to complete a PhD on his own media group.

With time, he realized that role models change as one progresses in life. He believes it is a myth that one can have only one role model. He learned different values from different people. Early in his journalism career, he was taught an important lesson—never react instantly. This taught him patience and self-control. He believes that reacting immediately often weakens one’s position, whereas responding calmly after things settle helps others realize their mistakes on their own.

Dr. Sharma also shares an inspiring story about his uncle, who was a journalist. After the Indo-China war, when the Kailash Mansarovar route reopened, his uncle became the first Indian to visit and documented his journey through inland letters. His vivid descriptions made readers feel as if they were witnessing every scene firsthand. From these letters, Dr. Sharma learned the art of first-person narrative journalism—writing in a way that feels cinematic and immersive.

This style earned him recognition and awards within his organization, motivating him to experiment further with writing. He firmly believes that everything in life is ultimately in one’s own hands.

Born and brought up in Jaipur, Dr. Sharma completed all his education in the city itself. He studied at Maheshwari School, Tilak Nagar, completed his graduation from Commerce College, post-graduation from Rajasthan College, and another post-graduation from the University of Rajasthan. He earned his PhD from Banasthali Vidyapith under Dr. Nirmala Singh. He believes that every experience teaches something valuable.

Alongside his academic and professional journey, he always carried a vision of establishing an educational institution that would provide quality education at affordable fees. This vision was shaped by his own struggles—during his 10th board exams, his father did not have enough money to pay the examination fees and had to borrow the amount.

This experience left a deep impact on him. He resolved that no student in his institution would ever face humiliation or stress due to unpaid fees. At Bhabha School, students are never asked about fees. All communication regarding fees is done directly with parents, ensuring students remain stress-free regardless of payment status.

When the school was established in Jaipur’s Chitrakoot area, the aim was to provide all facilities to students without imposing hidden or additional charges. Unlike many institutions that collect multiple types of fees throughout the year, Bhabha School offers all facilities under a fixed tuition fee, without charging admission fees.

Dr. Sharma confidently states that students of his school can be cross-questioned on any subject, and they will be able to answer with clarity. He believes that teachers and management must always be prepared to answer students’ questions and queries.

Advising the youth interested in journalism and mass communication, he explains that the profession is often glamorized. Many believe success comes overnight through interactions with celebrities and politicians. In reality, journalism demands relentless hard work. He recalls spending years without fixed schedules, often not knowing when he would return home or leave in the morning.

He stresses that journalism requires full dedication—research, references, evidence, and courage. If one publishes truth with proof, even criticism and abuse become compliments, as they indicate that the truth has struck the right chord.

Talking about running an educational organization, he emphasizes the importance of innovation, clarity of vision, and continuous updates. Selecting the right team from numerous applicants requires sharp judgment. He believes that the purpose of education should be so strong that when students pass out after Class 12, no exam of life feels difficult for them.

Group Discussions form an integral part of learning at Bhabha School. Every chapter involves discussion, summary preparation, and project submission. This prepares students for real-world challenges such as UPSC interviews, corporate group discussions, and analytical thinking.

He quotes:

ख़ुदी को कर बुलंद इतना, हर तक़दीर से पहले, ख़ुदा बंदे से ख़ुद पूछे, बता तेरी रज़ा क्या है।

He urges students to dream boldly and express their ambitions clearly.

Reflecting on India’s growth vision for 2047, as imagined by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Dr. Urukram Sharma encourages the youth to define clear goals—what they want to do, how they will do it, and by when. He stresses the importance of adapting education according to future needs, including AI, IP, and emerging technologies.

He advises students to use mobile phones as learning tools rather than distractions. According to him, AI is an extension of human intelligence, and when technology and the human brain work together ethically, success follows.

With AI introduced as a subject in CBSE and actively implemented at Bhabha School, students are being trained to use technology positively. Dr. Sharma warns that the pace of change is rapid, and if individuals do not evolve accordingly, they risk being left behind permanently.
