Teaching and enhancing the lives of people, Taha is working in the field of academics. She loves learning new things and sharing her knowledge with her students.

Dr. Taha Siddiqui is working as the Head of the Media & Mass Communication Department at Graphic Era Hill University in Dehradun. She has been working in the field of academics for almost ten years.

When asked how she came into teaching, Taha says that her interest in teaching developed way back in 2012, when one of his mentors started a department and invited her to work there as a faculty. That is where her journey as a faculty started and is continuing since then.

Recalling her childhood memories, Taha says that her childhood was a mix of fun and difficult times. She was a very emotional and sensitive kid during her younger days and had a very compact group of friends. She did her schooling at Loreto Convent School in Lucknow. She says that she is thankful to her teachers for imbibing the values and confidence in her due to which she was able to decide that she would enter into the field of media and mass communication. One memory that she recalls from her childhood is enjoying her time with her siblings, going to picnics, and having fun.

Talking about the difficulties and challenges during her journey, Taha says that her entire journey has been a roller coaster ride full of learning. She says that moving from a missionary school to a university with a very different culture was a bit difficult for her. However, it was also a stepping stone in her life. She had a pool of opportunities in college and that made her more confident and transformed her into a better person.  She got the opportunity to pursue her Ph.D in Media Literacy. While she was pursuing her Ph.D, just one month after her admission, she got a call from Google and got selected in the company for the job of Fact-Checker which gave a different dimension to her career. Along with her professional journey, her parenthood journey went parallelly which was a bit difficult to handle together. With time, she learned how to manage things  and is now doing well in her life.

Speaking about her achievements, Taha says that her overall journey has been quite pleasant and the achievements have been many both academically and personally. She says that she completed her Ph.D while she was expecting a baby and she was able to manage things well which is an accomplishment for her. Also, she got shortlisted by Google as a trainer which she feels very proud about. The biggest achievement for her is being able to train so many people and getting positive feedback after each session of media literacy. Further, being able to maintain a perfect balance in her family is what she feels like an achievement.

When asked about her role models, Taha says that the Russian writer Fyodor Dostoevsky is her role model. Also, her mother is an inspiration for her as she taught her to always aim high in life.

Sharing her life mantra, Taha says that she believes in taking care of herself first, and then only she will be able to impart that love to others and achieve success in life.
