She began her journey in the entertainment world at just 17 and has dedicated the past 25 years to teaching and life coaching. Dr. Swaroop's passion for education and her love for helping children shine through her work, which extends far beyond the glamour of the film industry. She continues to balance her creative talents with a deep commitment to societal development, particularly through her work with children.

Among her numerous achievements, Dr. Swaroop proudly reflects on being crowned Miss India in 1979 at the tender age of seventeen, an accomplishment that placed her in the national spotlight. She also became the face of ‘Shringar Bindis,’ a brand that continues to use her face even today.

However, Dr. Swaroop's educational journey is perhaps her proudest achievement. At the age of 38, she resumed her education and eventually earned a Ph.D. Her thesis, titled ‘The Role of Drama in Enhancing Life Skills of Children with Learning Disabilities in a School in Mumbai: My Reflective Account,’ showcases her dedication to improving the lives of children through creative methods. Additionally, her work in underprivileged areas of Gujarat and Maharashtra remains one of her most fulfilling accomplishments.

Dr. Rawal’s work is not confined to traditional education. Despite being a college dropout, her expertise and contributions led to her appointment as a non-government member of the Central Advisory Board of Education. She was also part of the focus group for the National Education Policy (NEP) of 2020.

Another initiative close to her heart is the 'Ten Days of Bagless Schools' program, which teaches children about Indian arts and crafts while expanding their awareness of career possibilities. These efforts underscore Dr. Swaroop's strong commitment to transforming education and offering students opportunities beyond traditional learning.

Reflecting on her early life, Dr. Swaroop shares that she had an extremely happy childhood, attending The Cathedral & John Connon School in Mumbai. With her father being the chief producer at the Indian National Theatre, she was exposed to the world of theatre and acting from an early age. She fondly remembers meeting international artists, ballerinas from Georgia, and actors from countries like the U.K., U.S.A., and Japan, which greatly influenced her love for the arts.

Dr. Swaroop also discusses the pivotal role her father played in shaping her life, describing him as her first role model. His passion for films, food, and books left a lasting impact on her. Additionally, she expresses great admiration for Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Dr. Swaroop recalls that after completing her Ph.D., she wrote to several influential figures, but the only response she received was from Narendra Modi, then the Chief Minister of Gujarat. His reply and willingness to discuss her ideas left a profound impression on her. She credits him for teaching her to question, embrace nationalism, and understand the principles of speed, skill, and scale. Dr. Swaroop also highlights her husband, actor Paresh Rawal, and their two sons, Aniruddh and Aditya, as pillars of strength in her life.

To attain mental peace, Dr. Swaroop practices pilates and regularly goes for walks while listening to music. She shares how her maternal grandmother introduced her to chanting, a practice that continues to bring her peace and serenity. Dr. Swaroop Sampat firmly believes in the importance of balancing work with personal well-being.

Dr. Swaroop’s life mantra is simple yet powerful: love the work you do. Her passion for working with children and contributing to her country is what fuels her each day. She advises others to believe in their work and pursue it with faith. If a job doesn't ignite passion, she suggests seeking something that does. Moreover, she encourages everyone to find ways to give back to their country, believing that serving the nation is a responsibility we should embrace as soon as we are capable.
