A dentist, Srishti, feels happy when she sees her patients satisfied with her work. A studious student, she always desired to get into the medical field and did not let her disappointments in life hinder her growth.

Dr. Srishti Shrivastava is a dentist. She is pursuing a Masters in Dental Science in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics. Srishti says that she has been in this field for the past eight years: five years of BDS, one year of study break, and now, three years of MDS.

Srishti says that initially her interest was not in dentistry. She appeared for the NEET examination, but couldn't get into MBBS. She repeated it one more year and then opted for BDS.

Talking about her childhood, Srishti says that she hails from Ratlam. She adds that her childhood was a good time of her life, and she enjoyed a lot with her parents, friends, and teachers and got their support. Her elder sister was very sincere, and Srishti desired to be like her in future. After schooling, she moved to Kota in 2010 and joined Allen Career Institute. Srishti says that it was a time when she learned how to stay mentally stable and stick to our core values in life.

When asked about her struggles, Srishti says that most of the dentists want to get an MBBS seat first, and hence it becomes a struggle for them to accept to adjust in the field.  Srishti also went through the same, as she also initially desired to be an MBBS doctor. However, she feels that when things don't go the way you desire them to, it is for the best, as she now gets a lot of peace from giving new smiles to her customers.

Sharing about her mistakes, Srishti says that losing self-confidence is one of her biggest mistakes. It happened to her after not getting an MBBS seat and getting disheartened and lazy. She feels that we should become independent in such cases and try to do meditation to resolve such situations.

Talking about her accomplishments, Srishti says that she started reading her father’s anatomy books at an early age. She scored well in her academics and also got a good all-India rank. She says that there are many small achievements in her BDS journey, and doing her masters is also a big thing for her. She also joined Vipassana meditation and is proud that she could complete ten days of it.

Speaking about her role models, Srishti says that her parents are the ones for her, as they have always supported her. Her Math and English teachers are also still in touch with her and help her with her problems. Her sister is also her guide in life.

Whenever she is stressed, Srishti does meditation. If her thoughts dwindle, she tries to think about the reason for the same, and thinks that when you find a reason behind your stress, you get peace of mind.

Advising everyone, Srishti says that we should always think that we are on the right path and that we can do it and not depend on getting validation from others.

Srishti says that her life mantra is to maintain calm in every situation and treat every phase of life equally.

In her free time, she likes reading books pertaining to genres like self-help, listening to music, and going for a walk in times of too much stress.
