Sonal Metha is a social entrepreneur, environmentalist, journalist, spiritual person, business woman, and a mother.
Sonal belongs to Gwalior. She got her initial education from a missionary school. She has eight degrees (BSc., BEd, MA, MEd, MBA, LLB, PHd, and Mphil), six diplomas, and more than twelve certificates. Talking about her childhood, Sonal says that she had a privileged childhood as she was born into a Marwadi family. She was the eldest in the house, so she handled the younger ones in terms of their education and made decisions for them. Her father was very supportive, and her mother used to pamper her.
When asked about her journey, Sonal says that she got a job in a TV serial at the age of 15, then made many videos and received media attention. After this, she went to Indore for fashion designing. She had a crest-and-trough journey. After marriage, she went to Surat and started working there in 1995. She also got a chance to work in Canada. She returned to Gwalior in 1997 and began working in a school. She held the position of principal and assistant director of 11 colleges.
Afterwards, she joined the High Court, where she worked as a panel lawyer. She also went through some health issues and got operated on. In the last 10 years, she has started an NGO, a weekly newspaper, and a school. Apart from this, she is a socio -economic expert in QCI and an advisor to the government of Madhya Pradesh.
The initial role models for Sonal were her parents. Also, Shri Azadshatru Shrivastav (retired IAS) is also her role model.
Sharing her accomplishments, Sonal says that her biggest accomplishments have been her life's achievements, despite coming from a conservative Marwari family. Secondly, her children's and her husband’s support is also an accomplishment for her. She is also an author of the book "All Subconscious Mind."
Sonal says that to attain mental peace, she does meditation as well as gardening. She has planted various medicinal plants and fruits. She loves to spend time with her plants for mental peace.
Sonal has two life mantras: one is "live, not just breathe," and the other is "stay happy and spread happiness."
