Never give up, no matter how challenging the situation gets.

Dr. Nikhil Singhvi is a Consultant Cardiologist at GBH American Hospital, Udaipur.
Born in Delwara, near Udaipur, Nikhil completed his school education in a government school. He has done U.G. from Udaipur and P.G. from Bhopal. He is a M.D. (Medicine) and has a Fellowship in Cardiology from Hyderabad. He also completed diplomas from CMC Vellore and Mumbai Hospital. Coming from a poor household, he had to face many struggles initially. His father became blind after his 12th grade class ended. That was one of the most depressing moments of his life, and he did whatever he could to pay his father’s medical expenses. He also took up the task of distributing newspapers to support his family financially. He also did night duty in hospitals to earn money to pay his own education expenses.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Nikhil shares that motivating the nursing staff, who faced requests from their families to be relieved of duty due to the pandemic's dangers, was a challenge. Some junior doctors were also called home due to their families' concerns. Despite these difficulties, they treated a severely ill patient with both COVID and cardiac disease at GBH Hospital, earning the patient's gratitude and pride in their profession.
For budding doctors, Nikhil advises that ethics and genuine practice are paramount, along with accurate knowledge of medical studies. One must aim to grow their knowledge in their respective field beyond books. Practical knowledge should be developed further.
In his opinion, education and experience are both important. Every day, a new technology or formula is developed, and this awareness of the latest developments, along with consistent practice, hones an individual's knowledge and experience. To fully understand these developments, the basics provided by education come into play.
If given a chance to go back to his past through a time machine, Nikhil wants to revisit his school days.
Nikhil is busy with a 24-hour schedule, but whenever he is free, he takes his sons to an NGO to educate and serve underprivileged children. On a concluding note, he says that everyone faces struggles in their life, but one must rise up to the challenge and believe in themselves.
