HoD- Electrical Engineering Dr. Santosh Raghuvanshi shares that besides academic planning and departmental affairs, growth is the most important aspect for him, not only in numbers but in quality, vision, research production, and long-term effect. He ensures that the curriculum is carefully designed to help students understand core concepts, be analytical and technical in solving problems that cut across the local community and also handle technical problems on the global scale. He notes that education should not only be in textbooks; rather, it should extend to practical uses, in the innovation-oriented way of thinking, industrial exposure, and practical clarity.

Educator Dr. Santosh Raghuvanshi explains that neither he nor the department believes entirely in academic excellence alone. The department is proactive in molding students into responsible, well-rounded, and socially conscious individuals. In his opinion, the real purpose of engineering education does not just lie in creating competent engineers but also in developing conscious citizens who can make positive contributions to technology, society, infrastructure, and the culture of the country in general.

He goes on to state that Electrical Engineering is among the fundamental engineering disciplines and a crucial factor in nearly all technical sectors. In power systems and infrastructure, manufacturing units, and the development of all modern technologies, electrical engineering is the cornerstone of the whole process. He says that sustainable growth cannot take place without effective electrical systems. He also says that this branch has the potential to transform the future.

According to Dr. Santosh Raghuvanshi, the Department of Electrical Engineering at Medicaps University was instituted in 2003 and has continued to develop with changing technology and industry needs. He shares that keeping up with current technological developments is not a choice; it is a necessity. With the transition to automation, renewable power, and intelligent systems in industries, academic institutions must stay connected to innovative and sustainable progress.

He says that his main area of study lies in Renewable Energy sources, which is gaining momentum in the modern world. Under renewable energy, he is actively engaged in optimizing Solar Photovoltaic Cells.

According to him, his studies examine ways to make solar systems better, more efficient, and optimized to produce more energy. He researches deployment of solar energy systems in smarter, more sustainable models. He continues researching ways to incorporate renewable energy into practical systems for areas that need large amounts of energy and where resources are scarce.

Dr. Santosh Raghuvanshi says that his work goes way beyond book learning. In his opinion, education should make students practical. He emphasizes enhancing their problem-solving skills, developing concept clarity, and assisting them to resolve their confusions about career choices and decision-making. He ensures that students are ready not only on academic fronts but also emotionally and professionally, so they can enter industry and society confidently.

To him, education does not mean the acquisition of degrees. In his opinion, it is about making human beings literate, responsible, and able to leave a long-lasting, significant mark in the world.

Sharing about his childhood, Dr. Santosh Raghuvanshi says that he was born in a small village called Tarawali in the Ashoknagar district of Madhya Pradesh. He shares that he had big dreams, despite growing up in a humble rural environment. His family had an agricultural farming background and he could observe what the villagers went through every day.

According to him, electricity shortage was one of the gravest problems that he witnessed in his childhood years. Unpredictable power supply posed significant challenges in irrigation. Farmers found it hard to irrigate their lands, and even farming performance was largely determined by unpredictable power supply. These facts made a profound mark on his young mind. He started thinking about how to solve such challenges.

Dr. Santosh Raghuvanshi shares that such childhood experiences were a direct factor that made him choose Electrical Engineering as his major subject. He says that he wished to work in an area where he could help solve real-life problems, especially those that concern rural people and farming.

Educator Dr. Santosh shares that he finished his schooling in Ashoknagar and went on to complete his undergraduate and postgraduate education at Shri Govindram Seksaria Institute of Technology and Science, Indore, Madhya Pradesh. He further shares that in college, he developed a solid academic background in engineering and technical knowledge. He also did his MBA from the Institute of Management Studies, DAVV, Indore, Madhya Pradesh, which helped him improve his leadership and managerial skills and develop his management and strategic thinking.

Dr. Santosh Raghuvanshi attained a great milestone in his academic life when he graduated with a Ph.D. from Medicaps University Indore, Madhya Pradesh. He shares that he was the first Ph.D. recipient of the university, which is a commemoration of his efforts, endurance, and academic excellence.

Talking further, Dr. Raghuvanshi says that his life has been characterized by consistency, clarity of purpose, and discipline.

Dr. Santosh Raghuvanshi shares that his father is his biggest role model. Talking about his father, Dr.Raghuvanshi describes that his father was a teacher and his first inspiration. Through him, he learned how to rise through tribulations with integrity, how to be disciplined in testing times, and how to work with utmost dedication.

According to him, his father's actions taught him more than words could. Through his father, sincerity, integrity, hard work, and discipline became the guiding principles in his life. Among the lessons taught by his father that have stayed with him till now is: despite the tough situations one may face in life, one should never compromise and always proceed with truth and honesty. This ideology has guided him in his personal as well as professional life.

Dr. Santosh Raghuvanshi shares that belonging to a Hindi-medium background offered challenges in communication and self-confidence. It was not easy at the start to express himself eloquently and stand at the same level as his counterparts.

But he made sure that these obstacles did not shape him. He preferred growth over retreating. He was patient and constantly tried to improve his communication skills. He practiced, studied, observed, and gained confidence in himself.

Dr. Santosh Raghuvanshi shares that to him, limitations are never the end; these are the areas where one must work hard and be determined to conquer. He turned his weaknesses into strengths.

Talking about his accomplishments, Dr. Santosh Raghuvanshi happily shares that he was awarded the Best Emerging Research Award in 2020 and 2025, respectively. According to him, these awards pay tribute to his contributions to his research and studies in renewable energy. More to the point, they prompt him not to give up trying to explore, research, and make contributions to his discipline. Dr. Santosh says that every award reminds him that hard work, self-confidence, and dedicated effort turn a setback into a stepping stone.

Educator Dr. Santosh Raghuvanshi shares that his constant efforts in the field of renewable energy, especially in solar photovoltaics, biomass, and sustainable technologies, focus on resolving actual energy issues. He says that the way life goes is determined by your control over your thoughts. Thinking is clear and intentions are firm when the mind is under control. He believes that change starts inside us. We create success in our minds, and later it becomes apparent. This belief keeps him mentally strong, positive, and purpose-driven.

Dr. Santosh Raghuvanshi says that India is a nation of the people. It is not only due to its resources that a nation becomes powerful, but the honesty and commitment of its citizens working in their areas of expertise with good intentions make it strong. As a whole, a nation is made of individuals doing what they do with desire and dedication; they create their country with equilibrium and harmony with nature.

Being a teacher, he believes it is his duty to give the right knowledge to students and to incessantly motivate them to learn. According to him, education is not enclosed in textbooks; it is about getting curious, building confidence, and leading young minds toward meaningful development.

Dr. Santosh Raghuvanshi advises everyone to hold on to hope. He encourages people to have a positive attitude, continue moving forward, and be willing to assist others. He says that good and honest work is always rewarded. Nothing is a coincidence, and that is why success is the natural consequence of honest work guided by integrity.

Dr. Santosh Raghuvanshi describes the three key requirements to become an electrical engineer: a desire to know more, patience, curiosity, and an eternal thirst for learning.

In his opinion, development in any technical sphere starts with sound fundamentals. Proper knowledge of concepts and sequential learning creates long-term superiority.

He also points out that theory is not enough. Real mastery comes when theory learned is reinforced by laboratory work and practical exposure. He says that confidence and clarity come as a natural consequence when students gain hands-on experience in addition to classroom learning.
