After earning various educational degrees, Samta decided to pursue her interest and passion for sports. She worked hard and got a job as a physical education teacher at a government school and has been nurturing students at the school since then.

Dr. Samta Dungerwal works as a teacher of physical education at Government Senior Secondary School in Napania.

Samta hails from Udaipur. She completed her schooling from Zawar, a settlement in the Udaipur district of Rajasthan. Then she came to Udaipur city when her father was transferred there.

Samta shares that after coming to Udaipur city, she did a B.Com. from Meera Girls’ College in the city. Then, she got married but she did not stop pursuing her further education. She then did an MA in English literature followed by an MA in History. She wanted to do a Ph.D. in English literature but before that, she had to do a triple MA as she had not scored good grades in the MA in the discipline that she had pursued earlier. After completing her triple MA, she did a B.Ed.

Samta says that she had been a national player in Archery and had been a champion at the state level in the sport more than three times consecutively. And her interest in sports made her gravitate toward the field of sports. She decided not to do a Ph.D. and did a B.PEd. instead. She then decided to prepare for the RPSC examinations to get a government teaching job. In her second attempt at the exam, she got a job as a physical education teacher at government senior secondary school in Napania and has been working there since then.

During her job, Samta also did a diploma in yoga science and then a diploma in naturopathy. She also did a Ph.D. in naturopathy to further her interest in the discipline.

When asked about her role models, Samta says that her father has always been her role model.

Samta thinks that with hard work and dedication one can achieve anything in life. She advises the youth of today to be hard-working to realize their dreams.

According to Samta, one automatically becomes a leader in their field if they have good knowledge about their field of interest. She says, in her job, she never hesitates to talk to any person of any rank in any department.

Samta laments that she always wanted to become a professional archer and represent India internationally but due to her circumstances she couldn’t fulfill her dream.

In her spare time, Samta likes to write poems, do yoga and aerobics, do dance, etc.

Her message to people is to always keep the child in them alive and to keep learning new things to keep growing in life.
