Dr. Rohit Sublaik currently serves as the Head of the School of Management at Bahra University, Waknaghat, Shimla and has been associated with the institution since 2012.

The School of Management was established in 2011 and offers a variety of academic programs including MBA, BBA, B.Com, and B.Com (Honours) programs. In addition to these undergraduate and postgraduate courses, the school also provides opportunities for advanced research through its PhD program in Management.

Recalling his childhood, Dr. Rohit Sublaik shares that he was born and brought up in Shimla. He completed his schooling from Bishop Cotton School, Shimla, which is widely recognized as one of the prestigious educational institutions.

Dr. Rohit Sublaik holds a Doctoral Degree (PhD) in Management with a specialization in Marketing. He completed his MBA from ICFAI University, Dehradun, which strengthened his foundation in management studies. Prior to this, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) from Himachal Pradesh University, building a strong base in analytical and scientific thinking. He also earned a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.), reflecting his multidisciplinary academic background and interest in the field of education.

He further explains that before entering the academic field, he gained professional experience in the government sector where he worked as a Project Coordinator. In this role, his primary responsibility was to build collaborations with leading companies such as Wipro and Godrej. This position provided him with valuable opportunities to interact closely with industry professionals, particularly human resource managers and corporate representatives.

Through these interactions, he was actively involved in creating pathways for students to gain practical exposure in reputed organizations. His role included facilitating training opportunities for students in these companies, where they could acquire hands-on experience. After completing their training, many students were also placed in those organizations, which made the process highly meaningful and rewarding for him.

Dr. Rohit Sublaik describes this experience as an important turning point in his professional life. The opportunity to connect companies with students and help them build their careers gave him immense satisfaction. At the same time, his regular interactions with students allowed him to engage with their ideas, creativity, and enthusiasm. He found that young minds carry a remarkable level of energy and fresh perspectives, which often lead to innovative discussions and learning experiences.

These interactions gradually shaped his decision to pursue teaching as a profession. HoD Dr. Rohit Sublaik shares that when it comes to inspiration and role models in his life, the first people he looks up to are his parents. Among them, he considers his father as his greatest role model. His father served as a government official and even after long working hours, he remained deeply committed to learning.

He recalls how his father would return home late at night after completing his duties and still dedicate time to his studies for further qualifications. Observing this dedication left a lasting impression on him. It motivated him to continue his own academic journey with the same discipline and commitment. He believes that whatever he has achieved today is largely because of the values and encouragement he received from his parents.

Speaking about the ideas that inspire him, Dr. Rohit Sublaik refers to a well-known quote on education:

“An investment in knowledge yields the best interest.”

He also mentions another thought by Sydney J. Harris:

“The whole purpose of education is to turn mirrors into windows.”

For him, these ideas highlight the true purpose of education, which is not only to acquire information but also to broaden one’s perspective and understanding of the world.
