Awarded with the SAGEian of the Year Award, Dr. Ritu Joshi works towards creating a safe and supportive environment for girls through the Women Grievance Cell and serves society by the CSR initiatives of The SAGE Group. Through quality education and student empowerment, she inspires young minds.

Dr. Ritu Joshi is serving as the Head of SageX, an online Extension and Professional Development Wing of SAGEU (Sanjeev Agrawal Global Educational University), with campuses in Indore and Bhopal. She also looks after the Women Grievance Cell (WGC) at the university, along with managing the work of the True SAGE Foundation, a Philanthropic and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) wing of The SAGE Group.

Dr. Ritu Joshi has been honoured with the ‘Swayamsiddha Award’, the ‘Aatma Manthan Award’, the ‘Param Manthan Award’, and the SAGEian of the Year Award in recognition of her valuable contributions and dedicated efforts towards the growth of the university.

Speaking about her professional career, Dr. Joshi shares that she began working in the year 2000. Before entering academics, she worked in the industrial sector for six years. Although the industry offered professional growth, she felt a lack of purpose in working solely for a monthly paycheck. This realization motivated her to change her career path, and she later joined SAGE University, Indore (SUI) as a teacher.

Dr. Joshi credits her teachers for inspiring her to pursue the field of education. Recalling her school memories while studying in Pune, Educator Dr. Joshi shares that her English teacher encouraged her to excel in the language, while her Hindi teacher helped her improve her poor handwriting through constant motivation and encouragement when she was in 7th standard. She also credits her English teacher for instilling good habits and values in her.

SageX Head Dr. Ritu Joshi believes that students learn not only from what teachers teach but also from the qualities they embody. Today, she follows the same principle while guiding her own students.

CSR Head at SAGEU Dr. Joshi considers her profession to be a highly creative field, providing exposure to learning across diverse domains, all of which directly or indirectly contributes to serving society. She feels delighted to be a part of the SAGE Group’s roadmap, which aligns with the purpose of delivering happiness to society.

Speaking about her inspirations, Dr. Ritu Joshi holds Hon'ble Chancellor Er. Sanjeev Agrawal, Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of the SAGE Group, in the highest regard. She describes him as a humble, down-to-earth, technologically proficient, and spiritually inclined leader who inspires both students and faculty members with his energy, vision, and positive outlook.

Having started from humble beginnings, Er. Sanjeev Agrawal has successfully established himself across multiple professional domains. According to Dr. Joshi, his enthusiasm and dedication are reflected in the students, faculty members, and senior staff of SAGE University through the encouragement and support he extends to everyone.

During moments of low motivation or reduced energy, even a single line or word from CMD Er. Sanjeev Agrawal works like magic for Dr. Joshi, revitalising her spirit and inspiring her to begin her work afresh with renewed enthusiasm.

Adding further, Professor (Dr.) Ritu Joshi shares that although she met many people throughout her life, none have matched the aura and energy level of Er. Sanjeev Agrawal Sir. According to her, these qualities are among the reasons why SAGE University remains an excellent place to work at.

Reflecting on challenging situations in life, Dr. Ritu often reminds herself of the famous quote:

'करत-करत अभ्यास के, जड़मति होत सुजान। रसरी आवत-जात ते, सिल पर परत निशान॥'

She believes that if a rope can leave marks on a stone through repeated friction, then through dedication and consistency, one can achieve anything in life.

Talking about her achievements, Dr. Ritu Joshi says that society itself has rewarded her throughout her career spanning more than three decades. Having worked in industries as well as education, and having interacted with students from various backgrounds, she has served as a motivator and mentor for undergraduate and postgraduate students of Commerce, BBA, and MBA programmes.

Recalling her first day in the classroom, Professor Ritu remembers feeling goosebumps of happiness as she stood before a room full of students. The experience brought her immense satisfaction, knowing she could contribute to society by shaping young minds. Also her experience of working with various organisations and B-Schools has taught her numerous aspects of student grooming and personality development, helping her establish a distinct identity among faculty members within and beyond the academic world.

“Never stop learning” is the message Dr. Ritu Joshi wishes to convey to everyone. She believes that education is the one asset that remains with a person throughout life and can never be stolen. Wealth and material possessions may come and go, but knowledge stays with an individual until their last breath.

Dr. Ritu further believes that,

“We should strive not merely to serve others, but to create opportunities for them.”

Elaborating on this thought, she says that people should not focus solely on seeking jobs but also on creating employment opportunities for others. By generating jobs, individuals contribute to the economic development of the nation through innovation, entrepreneurship, and new initiatives, ultimately helping India progress towards becoming a developed nation.
