From a teacher to a Director, Rimjhim always enjoyed taking on new tasks. She excelled in higher education, earning a gold medal in MCom, and topped her class in MBA and Law. She completed her PhD at the age of 22 and has published over 60 research papers and publications.

Dr. Rimjhim Gupta currently serves as the Director of VIFT and VIMS in Udaipur.

The college, under her leadership, offers a range of courses such as Fashion Design, Interior Design, Fine Arts, Journalism & Mass Communication, and MBA in Hospital Administration and Healthcare Management. These courses, focusing on vocational training and entrepreneurship, guarantee hundred percent placement of the students. Additionally, new courses in BA LLB, BCom LLB, BBA, and BCA are in the pipeline. The curriculum not only imparts theoretical knowledge but also emphasises practical training, introducing students to the latest technology.

Rimjhim embarked on her career at the age of twenty in the year 2000 from Bhupal Nobles P. G. Girls’ College, where she taught commerce students for seven years. Subsequently, she joined Pacific College in 2006, serving as a Professor in Commerce and Management until 2018.

Following that, she assumed the role of Assistant Controller of Examinations and academic head for VIMS at Sai Tirupati University. Since 2022, she has been the Director at VIFT. She underscores the importance of taking responsibility for personal growth and organisational success. She thinks that, contrary to popular belief, anyone may pursue a career in teaching because it offers tremendous opportunity, prestige, and a promising future.

Rimjhim's family is originally from Delhi. She, however, was born in London. Currently, her family is settled in Udaipur. Her father was impressed by the city and decided to make it their home, where he now owns a hotel. She was married in 2006 to the owner of a pharmaceutical company and has spent her entire life in Udaipur.

She completed her schooling at Central Academy Senior Secondary School and did her graduation from MLSU. She holds a PhD in HRM, an MBA in Marketing, an MCom in Business Management, and a PGDIB degree, along with a degree in Law.

Despite not initially aspiring to become an administrator, she embraced the challenge when offered. She remembers the early days of teaching a class of 100 students at the age of twenty. Overcoming challenges with confidence, she stresses the importance of a blend of education and experience for personal and professional growth.

Sharing her accomplishments, Rimjhim says that she was an average student during her school years. However, after switching her stream from science to commerce, she achieved academic excellence by securing the first position in BCom. She was a gold medalist in MCom and topped her class in MBA and Law. She completed her PhD at the age of 22. With over 60 research papers and publications, she has attended a number of workshops in and outside India. She also received a merit certificate from the UK government, validating her qualifications.

Comparing education and experience, she states that a person should have a blend of both. She feels that an educational degree is like a passport, and if you want to get the visa, you need to have good experience. Experience gives practical exposure and knowledge of how things actually work.

When asked about her role models, Rimjhim shares that she was very weak in maths, but because of the guidance of her school maths teacher, she scored very well in the subject in her board examination. She mentions the name of her mentor, Dr. Mahendra Sojatia, who guided her from her graduation till her PhD, as her role model.  She also recalls that when she was about to leave the teaching field, Ashish Agrawal, the promoter of the Sai Tirupati Group, inspired her to remain in this field and take on challenges, and that was when she took on the role of an administrator.

In her leisure time, she enjoys watching movies and OTT series and listening to music. She has travelled across the world and loves travelling to new places and learning about people.

To all the youngsters, she advises that they should not get upset with people or situations, and they should have confidence in themselves. Focus on the present, and do not worry about the future. She also emphasises the government's role in providing opportunities to prevent the migration of young talent abroad.

Given a chance to travel back in time via a time machine, she would like to relive her childhood.
