Dr. Ravindra Pathak is the Head of the Office of International Relations at Medicaps University, Indore.

In this role, his work is to create partnerships with international universities. These partnerships create various opportunities for students, such as internships, placements, and other programs. The basic objective of the International Affairs office is to create a pathway between Medicaps University students and global universities.

With this objective in mind, they have created different types of programs. The first is the Dual-Degree program, which allows students to complete one part of their degree at Medicaps University and the other part at foreign universities. They have also developed an environment for student exchange programs, sending students for one semester to different countries to explore different cultures. Through these programs, students gain not only educational knowledge but also cultural awareness. Currently, student exchange programs are running with countries like Malaysia, Singapore, and the Philippines, and with different other universities globally.

They also promote internships for students, providing opportunities lasting one to several weeks or months to work in different countries and in diverse work environments. Last year, some students visited the Philippines, Malaysia, and Singapore for short-term internships. For students who want to pursue careers in foreign universities and countries, the university also provides platforms to learn global languages. They have started language programs at the university in Japanese, Korean, and German. Recently, they signed an MOU with a French institute to introduce a French language awareness program, which has now started at Medicaps University.

This language awareness program will prepare students not only in terms of their interests in different countries but also make them eligible for international placements. They are creating an atmosphere for students who want to build careers and gain awareness at an international level.

Dr. Ravindra Pathak started his career in Mechanical Engineering and has been at Medicaps University for the last five years. Before this, he was in Africa, specifically Ethiopia, where he taught as a Mechanical Engineering Professor. He observed the changes in students when they went abroad or received skill training at foreign institutes. At that time, he took the small responsibility of creating awareness about foreign admissions and scholarships for Ethiopian students at the international level.

During that period, he came in touch with many African students and observed the changes in their lives. One of his students, who was pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Ethiopia, received a scholarship from the French government to pursue an MTech in France. After that, his life completely changed. Dr. Pathak realized that by providing proper guidance and information, students could transform their careers, which was a significant motivation for him.

This incident motivated him. After joining Medicaps University, he started the Office of International Affairs and created an environment that provides proper guidance and information to students, allowing them to grow as international aspirants for different companies.

Dr. Ravindra Pathak belongs to Indore and completed his schooling there at the Gujarati Samaj School. After that, he did his engineering education at Ujjain Engineering College. He shares that during his childhood, his father worked in government service in the Panchayati Raj department. Due to his father’s postings in different cities, young Ravindra experienced the different cultures of various cities in Madhya Pradesh. This exposure allowed him to gain inspiration from rural areas. When he realized that education and knowledge can transform human lives, his father encouraged him to pursue a good education.

Following this guidance, he completed his engineering from Ujjain Engineering College, near Indore. He realized that as an engineer, he could contribute only to the industry, but by entering the field of education, he could contribute significantly to society. He then pursued his doctorate in mechanical engineering and started his career as a teacher and educator. Over the past 17 years of teaching experience, he has realized that motivating students and guiding them to build careers aligned with international standards allows them to contribute more effectively to society.

They are creating an environment at Medicaps University, as well as in Indore and Madhya Pradesh, that helps students develop careers according to international standards. This enables them to earn good salaries and contribute positively to society, ultimately working toward the betterment of the community.

When asked, Dr. Pathak shares that he does not have a single role model. In every field, different people can motivate you. He believes that motivation comes not only from individuals but also from society and the situations one faces during their work and life journey.

During his life, seeing different rural lifestyles with his father, Dr. Pathak realized the importance of education. He believes that providing quality education to society is one of the most valuable contributions one can make. He took inspiration from different people, but his current motivation comes from his students. He shares that when a student takes his advice and builds a successful career, it serves as a great motivation for him. He receives positive feedback from students and is inspired by various situations and different students who take on responsibilities in diverse areas. He believes that motivation can come from any part of life.

Dr. Pathak lives by the line: “If you can change one life through education, you can change generations.” He explains that success in any industry has positive effects on society and one’s personal life, but contributing through education allows one to change generations. Comparing India from the 1990s to 2000s and then to 2025, he observes that education development has transformed the country. Today, students in Indore and Madhya Pradesh are receiving quality education, good salaries, and are contributing to society.

When he started his career as an Advisor in International Education in Africa, he shared many opportunities with African students who were interested in studying abroad. However, financial conditions in Africa made admissions challenging. He realized that merely sharing opportunities was not enough.

He then realized that providing information alone was insufficient; students also needed different types of support. At that time, he was in contact with some UN officers, and he took the initiative to contact different professors to provide financial support to students. In Africa, he faced these challenges, but he understood that if he could offer proper guidance about scholarships and connect students directly with the faculty, it would be highly impactful. These practices are also being implemented at Medicaps University, where students are connected directly with professors, allowing them to access guidance, opportunities, and the means to grab them.

At Medicaps University, he worked on connecting with Malaysia, where exchange program students receive free accommodation and meals. Such conditions and opportunities are made available through different communication channels and sharing information with students.

He shares that last year, Medicaps University received recognition from the World Book of Records, honoring their work for students.

The Office of International Affairs at Medicaps University started in 2019, initially with only two students participating in the university exchange program in Busan, South Korea. This year, more than ten students are going to different universities for student exchange programs, and over thirty students are pursuing higher studies, such as MS and PhD, in different universities. Many students have also received scholarships from international universities. These achievements reflect not only his efforts but also Medicaps University’s ability to create a supportive global environment.

They always welcome international collaborations because Dr. Pathak believes that India is not only a developing country but is expected to become a developed country by 2047. For this, India needs skilled professionals as new global opportunities emerge.

He mentions that the European Union and various Eastern countries are seeking skilled Indian workers. This creates a need for good professionals who can provide guidance and enhance the skills of Indian students so that they can succeed not only in India but internationally.

For anyone aspiring to a career in international affairs, he advises building strong knowledge and connections with different universities and professors. It is important not only for scholarships or higher studies but also for networking internationally to gain advice, opportunities, and student engagement. Proper guidance and efforts in this area can lead to a successful career in this field.

For students, he advises that compared to foreign education systems, the Indian education system focuses more on textbook learning. In contrast, in foreign countries, practical skills play a critical role in creating a successful international career. What one learns is different, but hands-on practical experience is essential. His advice to students is to focus on skill development and practical abilities that can be applied in the industry, as these are what truly matter for a career.
