Teaching and guiding MBA students, Preeti is a Researcher and Management faculty with fifteen-plus years of experience. She is associated with several universities.

Dr. Preeti Harish is working as an independent Researcher and Management faculty. She teaches and guides Executive MBA students and is associated with many universities in the UK like Victoria University, London Business School, and Liverpool Business School. She teaches Marketing and Research subjects to the students.

Preeti says that she is a management educator with more than fifteen years of experience. She was earlier in the banking and insurance sector and later shifted to teaching.

Recalling her childhood memories, Preeti says that her childhood was amazing, as it would be for anyone who was born in the 80s. She says that life was fun with no gadgets, no social media, and no OTT platforms around. She used to spend her vacations going to her cousins’ homes, bringing cassettes from the video library, and watching movies with her cousins. Also, their parents would not interfere in the fights of the siblings, and they used to manage it all on their own. She says that life then had fewer choices but more happiness.

Sharing about her interest in the teaching field, Preeti says that she was working in the banking and insurance sector, which was a job she got after her MBA but which was not of her interest. And therefore, she was getting stressed a lot. Slowly she realized that she was not meant for that and that she liked teaching from the beginning itself. This made her switch her career, and then she cleared her UGC Net examination and entered into the education field. She joined a college as an Assistant Professor and started loving her job.

Preeti thinks teaching is a profession where there is mutual learning. It is not always the students who are learning, but as teachers, they are also into a continuous learning process where they learn from the students coming from diverse domains. Preeti says that she likes to learn and research current and upcoming trends, and teaching is a never-ending learning process that matches her calling.

Regarding her mistakes, Preeti says that everybody makes mistakes in life. Preeti says that she would take up all the tasks that came her way and try to excel in each of them, and because of that obsession, she would sometimes get dejected. However, eventually, over a period of time, she realized that as humans we have our calling in life, and we should try to excel in that. She realized that she should prioritize things according to her calling, and that helped her grow professionally and personally.

Speaking about her role models, Preeti says that there have been multiple people around her who she admires for their virtues. She says that her parents, in-laws, husband, son, and siblings have always taught her to face every situation life throws at her with a positive attitude.

When asked what she does to deal with stress, Preeti says that she likes recycling things, and she keeps changing the decor of her house with recycled products, which is a stress-buster for her. She is also fond of music and has learned Carnatic music and is now learning to play the harmonium. Besides that, she practices yoga and meditation to destress.

Preeti says that an important lesson that life has taught her is, being women, we try to excel and achieve perfection in our career and household things, but in this process we miss out on simple yet significant things in our lives, like spending time with kids, giving importance to our own mental and physical fitness.

Sharing her life mantra, Preeti says that problems are inevitable but suffering is optional.
