Dr. Prateek Maheshwari is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Dentistry at the Venkateshwara Institute of Medical Sciences (VIMS), Gajraula, Uttar Pradesh. He is a Root Canal Treatment (RCT) Specialist and he claims to be the only Endodontist in the entire district.

Delving deeper into RCT, Dr. Maheshwari explains that RCT is a dental procedure to treat infection or damage within a tooth's pulp, the soft tissue containing nerves and blood vessels. He mentions that such procedures are carried out by a BDS, however, at VIMS, only RCT specialists perform root canal treatments.

Sharing his achievements, Dr. Prateek says he has performed several episectomy procedures at VIMS and has also participated in various other dental surgeries.

When asked about his inspiration for pursuing Dentistry, Dr. Prateek recalls being fascinated by working in the small space of a mouth from a young age. He was particularly intrigued when he observed his father during a dental treatment, feeling both fear and curiosity. This experience sparked his interest in the dental field, as he thought it would be fun to work on teeth in such a confined area.

Reflecting on his early days, Dr. Prateek says he hails from Amroha district in Uttar Pradesh. He completed his BDS at DJ Dental College, Modinagar, followed by post-graduation at Bankey Bihari College, Ghaziabad. Dr. Maheshwari worked for three years at Bankey Bihari College before joining VIMS, where he currently practices.

When asked about his role models, Dr. Prateek Maheshwari says he draws inspiration from his mentors, Dr. Mohit Sharma and Dr. Deepak Tomar. He admires their behavior, punctuality, and work ethic. Dr. Prateek also looks up to his father, who has been a constant source of support to him during challenging times.
