Dr. Prashant Jain serves as the Pro-Chancellor of both the universities which are part of the SAGE group- SAGE University, Indore and SAGE University, Bhopal. He also oversees the Education Vertical of the SAGE Group as its Vice Chairman. In addition to his role in education, he plays a key role in fostering strategic associations with medical specialists and consultants for the Apollo SAGE Hospital in Bhopal.
The SAGE Group has been actively engaged in the education sector for many years. Guided by the visionary leadership of its Chancellor, Er. Sanjeev Agrawal, whose mission is to “bring happiness to society,” Dr. Jain has been instrumental in expanding and strengthening the group’s educational initiatives. His efforts are focused on creating meaningful impact through quality education, aligning with the core vision of spreading happiness and well-being throughout the community.
He points out that somewhere along the way, we are losing touch with our core values. India, having the youngest population in the world with over 60 crore youth, is witnessing a generation that identifies as Gen Z which often lacks the grounding in moral and cultural values. Recognizing this, the SAGE Group made it a priority to integrate these core values into its educational framework.
At SAGE, moral education is not an afterthought—it is a foundation. Whether it's the SAGE International Schools in Bhopal, the engineering colleges, or the universities, value-based education is embedded across every level—from nursery to Ph.D. While professional and technical education is delivered with excellence, equal emphasis is placed on imparting life skills aligning with the new National Education Policy (NEP). In fact, SAGE Group was among the first in Madhya Pradesh to implement the NEP, ensuring that students could reap its benefits early on.
One of their guiding taglines, “Transform your passion into your profession,” reflects this vision. Whether a student is passionate about singing, dancing, or any other talent, they are empowered to pursue it alongside their academic career. Dr. Jain highlights that this forward-thinking approach is deeply rooted in the visionary mindset of Chancellor Er. Sanjeev Agrawal, whose ability to think ahead inspires the team to turn his vision into reality.
Talking about what inspired him to join the field of education, Dr. Prashant Jain shares that he has never viewed education as just a sector—it has always been a form of service for him, a passion that connects one to their roots. He recalls that after completing his studies, he aspired to pursue MBBS and prepared diligently for it. As he couldn’t make it, he went on to study pharmacy.
During his pharmacy years, as he began mentoring juniors, he realized his natural connection with students and found joy in guiding them. This led him into educational consultancy, where he helped establish several Engineering and Pharmacy colleges and also worked extensively in the field of equipment supply for educational institutions.
In 2001, a pivotal moment arrived when he met Er. Sanjeev Agrawal. Dr. Jain was deeply inspired by Mr. Agrawal’s vision of contributing to society and his service-driven mindset. This meeting sparked a turning point—Dr. Jain began to feel that education was not just a profession, but his true calling. Influenced by his own values and his parents' encouragement to do something meaningful, he found his purpose in education. Coming in contact with Er. Sanjeev Agrawal’s vision confirmed that this was his path, his destiny, and the work he was meant to pursue for the greater good.
Reflecting on his early years, Dr. Prashant Jain fondly shares that he was born and raised in Bhopal, a city he takes immense pride in calling his own. Born in 1974, he credits his strong foundation to the values and upbringing provided by his parents—Dr. Vimalchand Jain, a distinguished scholar who earned his Ph.D. in 1964 in “Hindi Grammar in the works of Pt. Jaishankar Prasad” , and his mother, Vijaya Jain, who nurtured the family with care and discipline.
Being the youngest of three brothers, Dr. Jain admits he enjoyed the privileges of his position, often receiving things without much struggle. “I had everything ready-made,” he recalls with humility. His fascination with the medical field began early, prompting him to prepare for PMT after completing his schooling at the renowned Demonstration Multipurpose Higher Secondary School in Bhopal.
Though his initial dream of becoming a doctor didn’t materialize, his thirst for knowledge never waned. He pursued Pharmacy, followed by Management Studies, Homeopathy, and even went on to earn two MBAs and a Ph.D., along with honorary doctorates. His academic path was rich and diverse, shaped by curiosity and dedication.
A major turning point in his life came in 2001, when he met Er. Sanjeev Agrawal. At that time, Dr. Jain was already involved in executing a course in Chhattisgarh, but that meeting shifted both his direction and destination. Inspired by Er. Agrawal’s vision and commitment to education and society, Dr. Jain found a new sense of purpose. Since then, he has been associated with the SAGE group for over 25 years, a saga that has defined not just his career, but his life's mission.
Talking about his role models, Dr. Prashant Jain shares that his parents were his first and most influential role models. They taught him the value of inclusivity and the importance of walking together with others—a principle he continues to live by. As he grew older, his elder brothers became his inspiration, followed by friends who consistently supported him throughout his journey.
Among all, he holds the deepest admiration for Er. Sanjeev Agrawal, whom he considers his greatest mentor. “Everything I’ve learned is from him,” Dr. Jain says. “The freedom and strength he gave me is the reason I am who I am today.” He strongly believes that role models should be those who are a part of your daily life and leadership, and Er. Sanjeev Agrawal is his guiding light. He also sees the current MDs, Sakshi Agrawal and Shivani Agrawal, as role models for their dynamic leadership and vision.
His role models extend into his personal life as well. His wife, Pooja, has been his pillar of strength, offering unwavering support and introducing him to spirituality—a path that continues to enrich his life. His daughter, currently pursuing MBBS, is fulfilling the dream he once had for himself, making her a source of deep pride and inspiration for him.
SAGE Group Education Head Dr. Jain believes that while role models may evolve over time, everyone should have someone close—someone they work with or learn from—as a constant guiding force.
Pro Chancellor Dr. Prashant Jain shares that some of his favorite guiding quotes from the SAGE Group are:
“SAGE है तो मुमकिन है,” “SAGE है तो success है,” and “सबसे शुद्ध, सबसे Pure—हमारा SAGE”
These slogans, he says, reflect the spirit and soul of the institution.
He further highlights a philosophy often shared by their mentor and leader, which has deeply influenced the culture of the group:
These principles are not merely spoken but actively practiced throughout the SAGE ecosystem. Dr. Prashant Jain firmly believes that every individual is inherently good just as they are, including himself—because, as he puts it, he is made by the divine. This perspective is deeply rooted in the values of Jain philosophy, which emphasizes seeking forgiveness both from others and from oneself.
He considers unconditional love to be best represented by the pure and selfless bond between a mother and her child. According to him, this form of love—without conditions or expectations—is something everyone should aspire to express, whether it’s toward their organization, team members, or family.
Dr. Jain also highlights the transformative power of positive thinking. He believes that our thoughts shape our reality, and when we choose to think positively, we invite happiness and fulfillment into our lives.
Dr. Prashant Jain believes that achieving milestones isn’t about struggle—it’s about effort, which may vary in intensity but remains constant in spirit. According to him, milestones are never static; they evolve with time. Initially, the goal was to fill 100% of seats in an engineering college. Once that was accomplished, they opened another, and when that too reached full capacity, a third was launched. New milestones kept emerging—schools were established, a university was founded, and colleges were taken over.
One of the biggest challenges, he recalls, was to enroll 2,400 students in the newly taken-over college, especially in a context where there was a belief that institutions from Bhopal could not succeed in Indore. But SAGE defied that notion. "When SAGE arrived," he says, "we made sure success followed." By 2016, they became the only institution with zero vacant seats—a milestone that marked a proud and promising beginning.
Since then, new milestones have emerged almost daily, and with each one, the team continues to grow and achieve more. Dr. Jain emphasizes that this is just the beginning. With the addition of the next-generation leaders—MDs Shivani and Sakshi—and their spouses also actively contributing to the vision, SAGE has found its “jet engines.” Now, the milestone is not just excellence in Madhya Pradesh but taking SAGE Group to the No.1 position across all of India. That, he says, is the aspiration that drives them forward today.
Dr. Prashant Jain advises new aspirants to always visit any institute physically before taking admission, rather than relying solely on online information. He points out that while the digital world can showcase impressive features, nothing compares to seeing the campus firsthand. He encourages students to meet the faculty, interact with current students, observe ongoing projects, and assess the quality of lab facilities and teaching staff in person.
He assures that the SAGE Group supports students throughout this process and emphasizes their focus on project-based learning and student progression. From the very first day a student enters the campus, an analysis is conducted to understand their aspirations—whether they aim to work in companies like TCS, join the software industry, become entrepreneurs, pursue higher studies, or follow another passion.
Based on this, students are categorized and guided accordingly. The entire team works with each student throughout their course duration, regularly reviewing their progress to ensure their goals are being met. Dr. Jain proudly states that once students visit SAGE, they realize that quality national-level education is available in Bhopal at very affordable fees. He encourages students to seize this opportunity and transform their passion into a profession.
SAGE University Bhopal & Indore Pro Chancellor Dr. Prashant Jain advises the youth to keep the spirit of patriotism alive, especially inspired by recent campaigns like Operation Sindoor. He reminds them that India is the youngest nation in the world, offering a tremendous opportunity to lead globally—not just through strength, but through vision, passion, strong determination, and focused manifestation.
He encourages young people to manifest and resolve that everything they do will be for the nation's welfare. To achieve this, he stresses the importance of studying hard, becoming responsible citizens, and maintaining discipline. This discipline must be combined with passion, and one must surround themselves with good company, stay positive, and always work with the country’s progress in mind.
