Dr. Prakash Chougule is a Cancer Specialist, based in the U.S.A.
Prakash hails from Kolhapur, Maharashtra. He did his schooling from there itself. Along with being good in his studies, he was also a competitive athlete in many sports during his school time. Gradually, his inclination started increasing in music and the Hindi language too. However, he did MBBS to support his family. Then he moved to the US and did his Oncology training at Brown University.
Remembering his childhood, Prakash says that his father died when he was just seven years old. It left him in great trauma. Since then, his life was a total roller-coaster ride for him. It was full of struggles as there was no financial support in his big family of six siblings and a mother. As a result, at that tender age, he took up the responsibility of his house. He shares that his father wanted him to become a wrestler just like his grandfather.
When asked about his role models, Prakash says he considers his father as his biggest role model as he instilled confidence in him and encouraged him to do something big in life. His mother is also his role model for supporting him at every step of his life and inspiring him to move forward. Besides, his Hindi professor and singer Mukesh also inspired him. In addition, he draws inspiration from the Chief of the Oncology department at Brown University. Even the biographies of great people like Nelson Mandel, Mahatma Gandhi, Veer Savarkar, Gangadhar Tilak, Ahilyabai Holkar, and others inspire him.
Talking about his struggles, Prakash says that when he moved to the US, the situation there was even worse because of unemployment. He had neither a house nor a job. He spent his nights living on the streets. After many rejections and failures, he finally got a job in a hospital. That’s how his journey began.
Regarding his achievements, Prakash says that he was so inspired and impressed by the famous singer Mukesh Chand Mathur, that he stepped into the music industry and has achieved many milestones in this field too. Apart from this, he became the director at Brown University at the age of thirty, which was his biggest achievement.
During the COVID pandemic, Prakash says he utilized his time, refining his singing skills by learning classical music. He recorded many songs at home and posted them on his YouTube channel. On the professional front, when all the clinics and hospitals were closed during the pandemic, he made several health-related videos to make people aware of the disease and take precautionary measures.
In his spare time, Prakash enjoys playing Golf and Tennis, singing and recording music, and gardening. He also likes to work out, exercise, and read books.
Advising the next generation, Prakash says that you live life once. So live it to the fullest and with a purpose. He believes that every person has some quality or the other, you just need to recognize it to be successful in life. He tells them to respect their elders and keep themselves surrounded by the people who can keep them positive.
