In the early stages of her life, Prachi identified her driving force and passion of becoming a doctor and she pursued it with full dedication and hardwork.

Dr Prachi Gupta is a Pathologist and Assistant Professor at GBH American Hospital, Udaipur. Besides, she runs her own laboratory by the name ‘Bright Diagnostics’ catering to a wide variety of essential medical tests offering a wholesome package.

Prachi decided to become a doctor in her 10th standard itself and says that her uncle had played a crucial role in helping her kickstart her MBBS journey when her own parents did not support her decision. Prachi completed her MBBS from Government Medical College, Bhavnagar and has also studied Pathology in Bhilai, Chhattisgarh. She has done a course in Oncopathology from Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai and has gained valuable experience out of it.

Talking about the relevance of Pathology, Prachi says that they are like consultants to doctors and that patients’ investigation reports play a significant role in diagnosis and  treatment of their illnesses. She adds that getting tested is very important to know the actual cause of the ailment.

As a message to the aspiring pathologists who wish to open their own clinics, Prachi says that along with the degrees it is very important to know the technical aspects of the job, the types of tests involved and to possess certain leadership qualities to run it well.

Prachi says that she didn’t have leadership traits back in school. She feels that to become a good leader, a person should know how to manage things well.

Talking about her childhood memories, Prachi says that she was so attached to her mother that she didn't eat anything until her mother came back from office.

Prachi says her parents have motivated her whenever she felt bogged down in life and have stood as a pillar throughout her hardships. She considers her mother as her role model who is a government teacher managing everything so well to give Prachi the life of her dreams.

Prachi believes that Experience and confidence matter the most to excel in any field. She adds that Education is also a must, since without education there is no meaning of experience and vice-versa.

If Prachi could go back in a Time Machine, she would still choose to become a Doctor.

Amid her busy schedule, as a source of recreation, Prachi likes to indulge in swimming, cycling, cooking and watching movies.

Prachi advises everyone not to give up wearing masks and take good care of themselves. She adds that one should not become careless since there are many people who have lost their dear family members in the pandemic. However, on the personal front, she says that we all have got ample time to spend with our family members during Covid. Prachi adds that the pandemic has given a boost to digitalization owing to which students were able to continue with their studies.
