Dr. Prabal Saha is a Dental Surgeon based in Assam.

Prabal completed his schooling in his hometown at a school where his father was a Principal. He finished his college education in Jodhpur, Rajasthan.

Discussing his interest in the dental field, Prabal shares that he grew up in a middle-class family where engineering and medicine were considered the only two best career options. Inspired by his elder brother, who was an MBBS, Prabal too decided to join the medical profession.

Starting his medical journey, Prabal gained experience by learning under a senior before gaining the confidence to treat patients independently and establish his own clinic.

Reflecting on the challenges he faced, Prabal emphasizes that establishing a patient base is not easy when starting a new clinic. Additionally, he recognizes the importance of maintaining a strong track record, as even a single negative case can impact a medical career despite a history of positive results. Prabal says that time and patience are crucial aspects of success in the medical field.

When asked about his role models, Prabal says that he draws inspiration from his mother, who managed everything single-handedly after losing her husband. Prabal is thankful to his mother, who helped his dreams come true.

Considering the fact that life is unpredictable, Prabal finds motivation in the song ‘Kal ho na ho.’ On that note, he advises everyone to just live in the moment without worrying about the future.

Drawing a comparison between education and experience, Prabal says that experience comes with time and that a balance of the two is important to succeed in life. He says that when it comes to the medical profession, theory as well as practical knowledge plays a crucial role.

When asked about his mistakes, Prabal says that if you don’t work with patience, then mistakes are bound to happen.  He says that it is important to focus on quality work.

Talking about his achievements, Prabal feels happy to share that he was a good sprinter in his school and college days. He was also a football player and played cricket at the district level. Working during the Corona pandemic and catering to his patients with dedication was also an achievement for him, though it came with its own challenges.

If Prabal could travel back in time through a time machine, he would get his father back, whom he lost when he had just completed his tenth.

Prabal advises medical aspirants to work hard, have patience, and also participate in extracurricular activities. He adds that they need to be updated with the latest developments in the medical field and focus on practical knowledge.

His hobbies include solo riding and reading.
