Dr. Pooja is following her passion for conserving the environment and saving it for future generations through her NGO Vrikshawali: An Environmental Preservation Society. Along with her husband, she has planted more than 12000 trees and takes good care of them too.

An MBA and PhD degrees holder, Dr. Pooja Goyal worked for five years as an Environmental Management educator, and thus came to realize the value of protecting the environment. As a result, in 2016, she started a startup called ‘Vrikshawali: An Environmental Preservation Society’.

Dr. Pooja tells us that ever since she was a young child, she always had an interest in conserving the environment. It could be because his father lived a life amidst mother nature too. Pooja was tremendously inspired by her father to follow in his love of the environment and lead a similar life. In fact, she discovered after getting married that her husband also shares her love of nature, so they started their first environmental conservation campaign together by planting trees in their neighborhood.

Since 2013, Dr. Pooja and her husband have been actively involved in environmental conservation activities as a way of giving back to the planet. They started out with planting 17 trees and watered them every week for two years, and now the trees are completely matured. They discovered along the way that people in general are willing to assist them in their endeavors and have always been supportive of them. Simply put, the general public is unaware of where to begin or how best to move forward with the cause.

Vrikshawali has benefited from the regular financial and in-person assistance given by people since its founding in 2016. Dr. Pooja has led the way in environmental conservation and tree planting while working with Vrikshawali, collaborating with the public sector, the private sector, and government organizations. She also wishes to spread awareness that Rajasthan is a fertile region rather than a desert. Furthermore, certain tree species—like Amla and Gulmohar—grow naturally without much help from people.

Chetan Bhagat's advice "Start small and work your way up" is a source of great inspiration for Dr. Pooja. Even if your small action is to preserve the natural environment in your neighborhood, you are making a significant contribution to the success of the country. Sandeep Maheshwari, a motivational speaker, once said that you should never calculate a solution in your head. Dr. Pooja finds inspiration in this statement as well. Putting the challenge and action plan down on paper will help you create a roadmap for achieving your goals, she believes.

Dr. Pooja is convinced that one should take some time to relax rather than stress themselves. It's crucial to avoid wasting time comparing your life to those of others since doing so could lead to negativity and depressive thoughts. Social media is great, but young people should use it wisely if they want to get the drive and encouragement they need to grow and become the most outstanding in their field, says Pooja.

Speaking about her accomplishments, Dr. Pooja states that she and her husband have planted over 12,000 trees throughout the city of Jaipur. She continues by saying that it's critical to educate people about the value of the environment and how it supports life.

Dr. Pooja recalls her hardships and tells us that during her first plantation drive, 30 out of 70 plantations were removed out by individuals for a variety of reasons. However, this did not deter Dr. Pooja and her husband, and they overcame obstacles to continue their plantation campaigns.

In her message to society, Dr. Pooja emphasizes the need to teach Environmental Science as a practical subject rather than solely as theory. The youth must be educated that having a healthy environment is just as important as having food, clothing, and shelter. Dr. Pooja cites Bhutan as an example of how, with the support of local educational institutions, students there are studying the environment as a subject and by planting a tree in their names. Dr. Pooja encourages everyone to practice resource conservation and sustainable environmental activities.

Being content and happy with who they are is one way that the younger generation may achieve success, according to Dr. Pooja. Becoming self-motivated is essential. By taking small, incremental measures, one can increase the likelihood of success.

In her concluding remarks, she advocates that all people pledge to significantly improve the environment for the generations to come by minimizing resource waste and protecting the environment on all possible fronts.
