Neha is particularly passionate about research and holds a PhD in the dynamics of Agriculture in Rajasthan and economic platforms. Her research focuses on tribal issues, higher education, and developmental matters. She has also completed her NET and MPhil at MLSU University, Udaipur.
Reflecting on her childhood, Neha shares that she grew up in Udaipur and attended St. Teresa Girls Convent School for her schooling. She later completed her graduation and postgraduation at Meera Girls College, Udaipur.
Neha says that she hails from a middle-class family where teaching is a prevalent profession among the women, including her mother. This influenced her interest in the teaching field, and she feels fortunate to belong to Udaipur, a city she cherishes and wishes to contribute to.
Neha draws inspiration from her maternal grandfather, a poet and teacher, and strives to follow in his footsteps.
During her college years, Neha actively participated in debates, extempore speaking, essay writing, and academic events. She excelled academically, earning a silver medal in post-graduation and ranking as the top student in her school and town during secondary and senior secondary education. After post-graduation, she pursued a B.Ed. degree from Vidya Bhavan Institute.
Neha says that her teaching career began at St. Teresa School, where she taught class 12. She then moved on to a management college, where she taught economics to MBA students for one year before joining RPSC as a first-grade school lecturer, where she gave her services for one year and four months.
Afterward, she cleared the college lecturer exam and became an assistant professor at Mohanlal Sukhadia University in 2012. Neha also took on the role of department head at MLSU. Currently, she is the assistant dean for student welfare at the University College of Social Science and Humanities. She is actively involved in various communities of the university and is also a member of the internal quality assurance cell of the university.
Teaching and research are Neha's true passions, and she takes great pride in her job. However, she acknowledges the challenges of being a working woman, which can impact her health and family life. Time management is crucial, but she remains grateful for her blessings.
Neha highlights the value of online classes during the COVID-19 pandemic, expressing gratitude to her students for their dedication to online learning. She believes that this period taught us many valuable lessons. Neha also shares her love for cooking, which became a hobby during the pandemic. However, she missed the in-person college experience.
Neha attributes her success to the guidance of exceptional teachers, including Navneet Bhatnagar, who taught her mathematics in school, and Dr. Shashi, who served as her mentor during her PhD.
At last, Neha advises aspiring educators to be fully committed to their profession, emphasizing that teaching demands more time than many other careers. Continuous learning and staying updated are essential for teachers. She believes that online learning cannot replace the heartfelt teaching of a dedicated educator, especially in higher education, where a teacher's presence is indispensable.
