Dr. Nishant Dubey’s inspiring story reflects dedication, perseverance, and a strong commitment to education. Dr. Nishant Dubey is the Director of the Jawaharlal Institute of Technology and Management (JITM), Borawan in Khargone, Madhya Pradesh.

The institute is a leading management college offering MBA and BBA programs. Over the past five years, it has emerged as one of the Nimar region's top institutes for management education, producing university merit holders and consistently delivering 100% placement for its MBA students.

The institute has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with more than 250 companies to support student placements. Its students have secured placements with leading organizations such as K Raheja Corp, the Landmark Group, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, DMart, Reliance, and many others. The institution's vision is to provide quality education to students from Tier 4 cities across the country.

Dr. Nishant Dubey points out that Borawan is located in a tribal belt, where most students come from reserved categories, rural areas, and economically modest families. Many complete their schooling and graduation in government institutions while facing challenges from an early stage of their education. At JITM, the faculty members consider it their responsibility to nurture the students’ potential, refine their skills, and work closely with them throughout the two-year MBA program. He has always believed in providing quality education, regardless of the cost involved, and has never viewed the institution as a means of earning profit.

He remains actively involved with the principals of all the colleges and believes that each principal should lead their institution with the mindset of an entrepreneur, taking complete ownership of its growth and development. Under his leadership, the principals are given the freedom and responsibility to focus on grooming students, enhancing their skills, and preparing them for successful careers. Dr. Dubey says that they are grateful to the chairman for his inspiring leadership and unwavering commitment to quality education.

Apart from his role in education, Dr. Nishant Dubey also has a keen interest in spirituality. He is also deeply involved in the field of mental well-being. He is a Psychologist and actively practices healing. He is a Reiki Practitioner, an NLP Master Practitioner, and is skilled in hypnosis. Through these practices, he helps people overcome anxiety, depression, and stress. Dr. Dubey says that seeing the happiness and relief on the faces of his patients after they recover, brings him immense satisfaction, and their gratitude serves as his greatest reward.

Dr. Nishant Dubey shares that a turning point in his life came when his mother developed a serious medical condition that required her to take treatment in Indore. While caring for her, he was unable to continue his previous job and eventually had to resign. His entry into the field of education was completely unexpected and happened by chance rather than by choice.

One of his cousins, who used to teach at different business schools, once requested him to deliver a lecture on his behalf. Through this opportunity, he visited Astral Institute of Technology and Research, Indore. When he met the Head of the Department, Dr. Vadhwa, he was asked to begin giving classes immediately. When asked which subject he would prefer to teach, he replied that he had completed his MBA and had studied all 32 subjects with dedication. He said he was ready to teach any subject because he had learned each one with genuine interest and commitment. He also credits his college Director, CS Kothari Sir, and his teachers for providing him with an excellent management education and a strong academic foundation.

Director Dubey shares an unforgettable incident about his very first lecture. When he entered the classroom, there were only four students present. One of them tapped him on the back and politely said, "Please take your seat. The teacher will arrive shortly." Smiling, he replied, "You go to the classroom. I'll be there in a moment." After waiting for a few minutes, he realized that those four students were the entire class—and they did not know that he was, in fact, their teacher. That interesting experience became the beginning of his career in education.

After the class, he met the Head of the Department and asked how many MBA students were enrolled in the college. The HoD informed him that there were more than 300 students pursuing an MBA. However, the students had been informed that a professional with a corporate background from Mumbai would be delivering the lecture, and only those four students had turned up.

Dr. Dubey was deeply disappointed by the lack of discipline, seriousness, and commitment toward management education shown by the students. At the time, he often heard people in society and even within families say that pursuing an MBA had little value. Many students enrolled only to earn a degree, without developing the knowledge, skills, or mindset the program was intended to provide. This reality had a profound impact on him.

Feeling discouraged, he told the HoD that he did not want to continue teaching a class attended by only four students. In response, the HoD challenged him by saying, "Why don't you use your ability to increase the class strength from four students to forty within the next five or six days?"

He accepted the challenge without hesitation. As someone who had always embraced challenges, he was determined to prove himself. He spent long hours every night preparing engaging PowerPoint presentations and delivering them with enthusiasm and dedication in the classroom. His hard work, passion, and innovative teaching style gradually began to attract more students to his lectures.

He considers himself fortunate that one of the students in that first class was Deep Sharma, who remains in touch with him even today and holds a senior position at Shri Rawatpura Sarkar Group of Institutions, Raipur.

He entered the education sector in 2010, and by 2026, he has completed nearly 16 years of experience in higher education. During this time, he has gained valuable insights by working with several reputed institutions, including Indore Institute of Law, Indore. He has traveled across 13 states of India and has counselled more than two lakh students, helping them make informed career decisions. Passionate about mentoring and student development, he has dedicated his career to guiding young minds toward meaningful career choices and a brighter future.

Dr. Nishant Dubey was born on 5 February 1983 in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. His father, Madhukant Dubey, was a government employee whose frequent transfers took the family to cities including Mandsaur, Ujjain, Ratlam, and Indore. As a result, Dr. Dubey changed schools several times during his childhood. Although he could not spend enough time with childhood friends because of these frequent relocations, each new school brought valuable opportunities to learn from different teachers, adapt to diverse teaching styles, build new friendships, and experience new environments. These experiences helped him become more adaptable, resilient, and confident.

The greatest influence in his life has been his father, Madhukant Dubey, who consistently encouraged him to take initiative, work independently, and learn through experience. His father's guidance played a significant role in shaping his leadership qualities. He also credits his mother for being a constant source of strength and motivation. She taught him the importance of honesty, hard work, perseverance, and never giving up, values that continue to guide him both personally and professionally.

After completing his schooling at St. Joseph's Convent Senior Secondary School, Ratlam, Dr. Nishant Dubey moved to Indore to pursue higher education. Coming from a commerce background, he appeared for the Chartered Accountancy (CA) examination and cleared the CA Foundation on his second attempt. He then joined the office of CA Manoj Fadnis for his articleship, where he trained for nearly three years while continuing his professional studies.

Though he reached the CA Intermediate level, he says that balancing academics with the demanding schedule of articleship was challenging, as it is for many CA aspirants, which made it difficult for him to complete the next stage quickly. Alongside his CA studies, he earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Parikh Manilal Baldevdas Gujarati Commerce College, Indore, Madhya Pradesh.

As he gained practical experience, he realized that Auditing and Taxation were not the fields in which he wanted to build his career. This realization encouraged him to explore new opportunities that better matched his interests, strengths, and aspirations.

Dr. Dubey always wanted to explore opportunities that could give new direction and growth to his career. He aspired to take up leadership roles, achieve recognition, embrace challenges, and experience the world beyond his comfort zone. With this vision, he sought guidance from Mr. Trivedi, the Director of PACE Institute, who advised him to pursue an MBA to develop his professional skills and leadership abilities.

Following his graduation, he enrolled in an MBA program and completed his specialization in Marketing and Human Resources. After completing his MBA, he was fortunate to be among the four students selected from a batch of around 200 students by the Future Group. In 2008, he joined the Mumbai Zonal Office of the Future Group as an Assistant Category Manager. He was highly satisfied with his corporate role and was enjoying the professional experience and learning opportunities that came with it.

Reflecting on his role models, Director Dubey remembers the teachers and mentors who have shaped his life. He feels grateful towards many individuals who guided him from his school days to his professional career. One of his early mentors was Late Mr. Joyce, who helped him improve his English and handwriting during his school years. During his college days, Commerce Faculty member Mr. Trivedi played an important role in guiding and motivating him.

In his professional life, he learned valuable lessons from Yogesh Sharma during his time with the Pantaloons Group, as well as from Shri Arun Yadav, whose guidance has helped him develop professionally and personally. He also gained significant knowledge and experience while working with CS Kothari Sir, who inspired him with his leadership and vision.

Dr. Nishant Dubey considers Dr. Yogeshwari Phatak, former Director of Prestige University, as one of the most influential mentors in his life. He learned the true values of professionalism and received a new direction under her guidance. Although his initial interest was mainly in marketing, she inspired him to enter the field of academia and helped him understand the qualities of a true academic.

With her encouragement and support, he registered for his PhD and successfully completed his research work. He believes that many of his achievements in academics are because of her guidance and blessings. These mentors have played a significant role in shaping his personal growth, professional journey, and academic success.

Dr. Nishant Dubey thinks that, as the saying goes, "The pen is mightier than the sword," a teacher holds a unique position in society because the power of creation and transformation lies in their hands. Inspired by this thought, Dr. Nishant Dubey has always believed in the words of Swami Vivekananda — "Arise, awake, and do not stop until the goal is achieved."

Swami Vivekananda has been his first and greatest inspiration since childhood. He has read extensively about his life, tried to follow his principles, and applied his teachings in his own life. His father encouraged him to read about Swami Vivekananda and learn from his thoughts and philosophy. The values of dedication, self-belief, hard work, and continuous learning that Swami Vivekananda represented have deeply influenced Dr. Dubey and continue to inspire him.

He is also deeply inspired by a song whose meaningful lines he often hums and shares with his students —

“किसी की मुस्कराहटों पे हो निसार,

किसी का दर्द ले सको तो लो उधार…”

These words beautifully reflect his belief about the true purpose of life.

According to Dr. Dubey, people define the goal of life in different ways. For some, it may be earning wealth; for others, building a big house or serving their parents. However, while achieving these goals, the ultimate thing a person seeks is satisfaction, happiness, inner peace, and the ability to bring a smile to someone’s face. He believes that these simple acts of kindness and compassion are not difficult to practice, and they can help a person live a meaningful and fulfilling life.

Director Nishant Dubey also believes in spreading the message of global peace and harmony among people of all countries, societies, and communities, beyond the boundaries of caste, racism, and discrimination. According to him, education is the strongest bridge that can connect humanity and remove differences. He believes that education is the key solution for the world to understand the true values of compassion, equality, and humanity.

With this very purpose in mind, he pursued Psychology with the aim of supporting and guiding students in a better way. He always felt that he did not receive proper career counselling during his school years, and this personal experience inspired him to ensure that every student receives the right guidance and direction for their future.

His professional journey in academia has included various learning experiences and challenges. He started by working as a visiting faculty member at nearly six different colleges before joining the Indore Institute of Law (IIL). Later, he worked with Prestige College, Indore, one of the most reputed institutions in Madhya Pradesh, followed by Renaissance University. Currently, he is associated with the JITM, Borawan, Khargone.

The Director of JITM, Dr. Nishant Dubey shares that over the years, this journey has been a fulfilling experience, allowing him to interact with and mentor more than two lakh students. Seeing his students achieve success across different fields has been a matter of great pride for him. Some of his students are working with global companies like Tesla, while others have established successful careers in countries and cities such as the UK, Europe, and Dubai. Many of his students have also become advocates in the Supreme Court and High Courts, while some have achieved positions as civil judges.

When he joined the institute, he found the environment quite challenging, especially while working with the students. As he mentioned, many students come from difficult backgrounds and face several challenges in understanding what they want to achieve in life. He realized that these students were not lacking potential, but they needed proper guidance, direction, and support to identify their goals and move forward with confidence.

Inspired by the determination of Dashrath Manjhi, the man in Bihar who dug out a road in the mountain singlehandedly, he and his team continue to embrace challenges with strong determination, patience, and a never-give-up attitude. He believes in making continuous efforts to bring positive change in students' lives. While guiding students, he follows a balanced approach—sometimes with care and understanding, and sometimes with strict discipline when required.

Dr. Nishant Dubey shares that during this process, some students have expressed dissatisfaction, filed complaints, or even decided to leave the college. His response has always been clear: if they feel the institution is not suitable for them, they are free to make their choice. However, he remains committed to maintaining discipline and academic standards.

The institute follows strict rules such as restricting mobile phone usage and limiting access to social media during academic hours. Students are expected to maintain 75% attendance, complete assignments on time, and focus on their academic performance. Due to these rules, students sometimes face challenges such as attendance shortages, assignment penalties, and academic pressure, leading to confusion and concerns among them.

However, he believes that the discipline and hardships students experience today will become blessings for their future. The temporary struggles they face are meant to build responsibility, confidence, and a stronger foundation for their professional lives.

The director of Jawaharlal Institute of Technology and Management believes that once students understand the importance of discipline, dedication, and hard work, they will realize the value of these experiences and create a better future for themselves. Even if some students criticize him today, he is confident that with time, they will understand his intentions and appreciate the guidance they received.

Many students remember him and express their gratitude, especially on occasions like Guru Purnima. Although his busy schedule often makes it difficult for him to respond to every message, he deeply values the love and respect shown by his students. He feels that supporting students whose parents work as labourers, helping them overcome challenges, and mentoring them toward success is a meaningful responsibility.

He takes pride in having built a dedicated team of passionate and compassionate educators. According to him, every member of his team has a noble heart and shares the same commitment to guiding students, shaping their careers, and creating a positive impact in their lives.

When Dr. Dubey talks about his achievements, he says he humbly believes that he still has a long way to go and does not consider himself as someone who has achieved everything. He describes himself as a person who is always eager to learn, grow, and take on new challenges. For him, success is not a destination but a continuous process of improvement, and he still wants to work harder and achieve more.

Recalling some important milestones of his life, he shares that after completing his MBA, he became one of the four students selected from a batch of 200 students by one of India's leading companies. He was selected for the Zonal Office of the company, an opportunity that came through immense dedication and hard work during his internship in Mumbai.

The internship period was one of the most challenging phases of his life. He worked for nearly 13 to 14 hours every day, leaving home at 6 in the morning and returning around 10 to 11 at night. Along with other selected students, he worked tirelessly for four months on projects and gave his complete dedication. However, after completing the internship in 2008, they faced a major setback when the company announced that due to the recession, they would not be hiring them.

Around 22 students from different cities of Madhya Pradesh had come to Mumbai after investing in their MBA education, hoping to secure their careers. This unexpected situation left everyone deeply disappointed and emotionally broken. During that difficult time, they reached out to their mentors, who provided them with valuable guidance and support. He especially remembers Mr. Deep Ajwani, whose encouragement and mentorship played an important role in helping them overcome that phase. Although he wishes to express his gratitude to him personally, he says that Mr. Ajwani will always remain in his heart.

With the support of their mentors, they regained confidence, received more interview opportunities, and eventually secured placements. This experience taught him the importance of resilience, patience, and having the right guidance during challenging times.

Completing his PhD was one of the most meaningful achievements of his life. He believes that while some people complete their doctorate in a shorter period, his path was challenging because he had to balance both his professional responsibilities and academic commitments. It took him around five and a half years to complete his PhD. During this period, the COVID-19 pandemic brought additional difficulties, but he continued with determination and perseverance.

Dr. Dubey still remembers the moment when his father told him that he was proud of him. For him, those words from his father became one of the greatest achievements and most valuable memories of his life.

Another significant milestone in his career was becoming the Director of the institute. He considers this one of the highest responsibilities in the field of education and feels grateful for the opportunity to work closely with students, guide them, and contribute to their growth and success. His focus has always been on doing meaningful work that brings satisfaction and creates a positive impact.

Talking about challenges, Dr. Dubey says he believes that life always has ups and downs and never moves in a straight line. Just like the product life cycle that he teaches MBA students, life also experiences different phases — introduction, growth, maturity, and decline. Every stage brings new learning, challenges, and opportunities for personal and professional growth.

His message to students is inspired by the teachings of Gautam Buddha, who said that life moves like a wheel. When you rise, do not become proud because every person experiences different phases in life. Similarly, when you face difficult times, do not lose hope or become discouraged, because better days will come again.

This has been one of the greatest lessons of his own life. He believes in surrendering everything to the Almighty, especially Lord Shiva and Lord Hanuman, and following the path that is meant for him with faith and dedication. His message to students is to keep working sincerely, remain humble in success, stay strong during challenges, and trust the process of life.

JITM Director Dr. Nishant Dubey's message to the youth of the nation is that the world is changing at an extremely rapid pace, and every new generation is experiencing a different level of transformation. He highlights the shift from the Millennial Generation to Generation Z and now the emerging Alpha Generation, where changes in technology, lifestyle, economic conditions, and opportunities are happening faster than ever before.

Dr. Dubey explains that, earlier, generational changes took place over nearly 20 years, with major shifts seen from one generation to the next — from bicycles to motorcycles, motorcycles to cars, and cars to airplanes, reflecting changes in lifestyle and development. However, during the Millennial era, this transformation was reduced to around 10 years, with rapid progress in technology, per capita income, GDP growth, inflation, and social changes.

Dr. Dubey believes that today’s youth, especially those between the ages of 15 and 25, are entering a highly competitive world filled with increasing challenges. The rise of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics may create new pressures, including concerns about employment, increased competition, stress, anxiety, and mental health challenges.

Dr. Nishant Dubey's message to young people is to prepare themselves with knowledge, skills, adaptability, and a strong mindset. Instead of fearing technological changes, they should learn to use them as opportunities for growth. The youth are the strength of the nation, and by working harder, continuously learning, and developing new skills, they can create a better future for themselves and the country.

He shares a powerful quote that is very close to his heart:

“Strong people create good times, good times create weak people, weak people create difficult times, and difficult times create strong people.”

According to him, this reflects the continuous cycle of life, where every generation faces different challenges and opportunities.

Dr. Nishant Dubey believes that today’s youth have access to countless resources and opportunities, with knowledge and technology available at their fingertips. Therefore, they cannot afford to become complacent. They need to remain determined, hardworking, dedicated, and continuously improve themselves.

He encourages young people not to only question what the country has given them, but to think about what they can contribute to their nation. He recalls the inspiring words of Major Dhyan Chand, who said that it is not the responsibility of the country to provide everything to an individual; rather, it is the responsibility of every citizen to contribute to their motherland.
