A Consultant Pediatrician, Nishant says that the medical field demands continuous learning and one must pursue this as a career with an aim to help people with no greed for money.

Dr. Nishant Kumar Bansal is working as a Consultant Pediatrician at Tagore Hospital and Dr. R.M. Hospital. He completed his MBBS in 2013 and has been practicing Pediatrics since 2014.

When asked about his interest in the field of Pediatrics, Nishant says that he wanted to become a doctor from the very beginning. However, he chose Pediatrics while doing his MBBS.

Recalling his childhood memories, Nishant says that he belongs to a small town Mahwa in the Dausa district. He has done his schooling in Mahwa itself. Thereafter, he shifted to Kota for PMT preparations. He says that he had a very good friend circle during his school days. Belonging to a middle-class family, he did not have many privileges but still had a good childhood.

Nishant says that he did MBBS from SMS Medical College, Jaipur and then he did post-graduation in Pediatrics from Maulana Azad Medical College, Delhi. After completing his post-graduation, he did a job at the Government Hospital in Delhi. Thereafter, he shifted to Jaipur. Nishant says that being in the medical field is a long learning process and one gets to learn new things at every stage.

Talking about the struggles he faced during his journey, Nishant says that there are no fixed working hours in the medical field. Apart from this, nowadays building a relationship between a doctor and a patient has become so difficult. The doctors have to struggle a lot to gain the trust of their patients, he says.

Nishant says that since he is in pediatrics, he has to treat small kids and at times he feels very upset for not being able to treat the kids for their untreatable health issues. He says that he has to put in much effort for the development of the mental, physical, and overall health of the kids in order to make their lives better. Doing this work gives him a lot of satisfaction, says Nishant.

Regarding his mistakes, Nishant says that medicine is a continuous learning field due to which they have to learn continuously in order to keep themselves updated. At times he used to commit mistakes due to which the situation of the patients used to worsen. However, he learned from his experiences and avoided repeating those mistakes from there on.

Talking about his achievements, Nishant says that he treated a newborn kid with a weight of just 900 grams in just two months which is the biggest achievement for him. Further, treating kids with various health issues and improving their scholastic performance feels like an accomplishment to him.

Advising the medical aspirants, Nishant says that if you want to pursue your career in this field, you must be very patient and give your total devotion to it. Further, he says that one must not come to the field of medicine with the aim to make money as this is the field to help people and treat them at affordable prices.

Nishant says that the government should pay attention to some of the medical schemes for the welfare of the people. Further, he says that the government should also work to provide clean air and water to the people and also should focus on providing proper health services to remote areas.

Speaking about his role models, Nishant says that his father has been the one for him. He says that his father had always taught him to struggle and never give up on his dreams.

In his free time, Nishant loves listening to music, doing photography, and also spending time with his family.

To deal with stress, Nishant  prefers spending time with his son or listening to old songs that acts like therapy for him and helps him feel relaxed.
