Dr. Neha Bhanot is an Ayurvedic PG scholar specializing in the ‘Rachna Sharir Vibhag’ at the Madan Mohan Malviya Government Ayurvedic College and Hospital in Udaipur.
Neha was born in Ajmer and describes her life as a roller coaster, with a childhood filled with both joy and stress. Despite traditional beliefs running in her family, where educating girls was questioned, her parents always prioritized their daughters' education and independence.
She attended Savitri Girls School in Ajmer for her schooling. Her vibrant nature led her to actively participate in sports and games during her school days. Recalling her upbringing, Dr. Neha fondly remembers her father's dedication to his dhaba. Her mother, emphasizing the value of hard work, used to tell her that her father put in immense effort, even washing utensils, to support her education. She was reminded that doing well in academics was essential to honor her father's hard work and ensure that his efforts did not go to waste.
As a child, Dr. Neha used to feel upset when her mother made those remarks. But, her deep love for her father motivated her to study diligently and make him proud.
Neha attributes her current achievements to her hard work and determination, driven by her desire to make her parents proud. She also acknowledges the support of her parents, especially her mother, who is currently battling cancer. She believes that without her parents' support, she and her younger sister wouldn't have been able to achieve what they have today.
Neha mentions that she opted for a gap year after completing class 12 to focus on preparing for the medical entrance exam. However, during that time, she didn't want to let the year go to waste. Hence, she concurrently enrolled in the first year of B.Sc. In a remarkable feat, she secured a position as a topper in her B.Sc 1st year while diligently preparing for the medical entrance exam.
She reveals that her mother initially wished for her to pursue a career in law, but she held a strong aspiration to become a doctor. Despite her mother's initial preference, she managed to convince her and pursued her dream of entering the medical field.
Dr. Neha explains that although she was selected for dentistry, she ultimately chose BAMS after one of her teachers emphasized its promising career prospects.
She says that she had completed her undergraduate studies at the same Madan Mohan Malviya College, an institution that has consistently supported her.
Beyond her academic achievements, Dr. Neha shares that she engages in online clinical practice, specializing in skin and hair care. Her talents extend to various creative pursuits. Notably, she is a state-level badminton champion too, having represented her university and clinched a gold medal for her outstanding performance.
When asked about her role models, she emphasizes that both her parents have been influential figures in her life. However, she holds her mother in the highest regard, citing her unwavering support for her and her sister in all aspects of their lives, despite facing an ongoing battle with cancer.
One song that motivates Dr. Neha is "Ruk Jana Nahi" as she resonates with its message. She took 5-6 years to get selected for her PG studies, as she was determined to pursue her postgraduate education from a government college, and her perseverance paid off when she finally achieved her goal.
During that time, she dedicated herself to strengthening her clinical skills, obtaining certifications such as CCRS and CRAV, and managing 400-500 OPD cases at once. Her hard work and dedication to gaining clinical experience led her and her husband to establish a firm called RKS Ayurveda and Yoga, where they provide counseling, motivation, and sometimes even free treatment to patients.
Sharing her accomplishments, Neha says that the addition of the prefix ‘Dr’ before her name has been her greatest achievement. Additionally, launching her own firm, RKS Ayurveda and Yoga and engaging in social work has been a significant milestone for her. She mentions that over 800 individuals are connected to them. Furthermore, she considers it an even greater achievement when a patient specifically requests to seek treatment from her upon returning to the hospital for the second time.
Furthermore, Dr. Neha highlights her additional qualifications, including the completion of PGDY. She has actively contributed her services to CCRS, participating in two programs, with particular pride in independently running one of them. Notably, she holds the credential of CRAV from Maniben Ayurvedic Hospital.
In addition to her academic and clinical achievements, Neha remains an avid participant in various activities. Her prowess extends beyond the medical realm, as she continues to excel as a badminton champion, securing gold medals. Beyond her professional roles, Dr. Neha sees herself as a positive influencer, demonstrating exceptional counseling skills to guide and support others effectively.
Her message to the youth is that they should consider pursuing Ayurveda due to its promising future and wide-ranging opportunities. She emphasizes that after completing BAMS, individuals can explore roles beyond being a doctor, such as becoming a counselor, teacher, or opening their own pharmacy. She highlights that success in Ayurveda can lead to not only financial gain but also recognition and fame.
Additionally, she explains the essence of Ayurveda through the shloka "Swasthya sya swasthya rakshanam, aturasya vikar prashamanam" which translates to "Preservation of health for the healthy, alleviation of disease for the sick."
Dr. Neha encourages people to embrace Ayurveda and extols its benefits. Furthermore, she motivates and advises the youth, emphasizing that they are the only ones who truly understand themselves and what they lack, and therefore, they are the only ones capable of fulfilling those needs.
She advocates for perseverance in life and stresses the importance of having a specific goal. Her own aspiration is to establish a hospital where every patient who enters finds resolution to all their health issues.
