Dr. Nayak reflects that perhaps the true determination began from that moment, and the struggle to prove himself started there.

After achieving a first division, his dedication toward studies intensified steadily. On the strength of that academic passion, he completed his BSc, MSc, MPhil, and PhD degrees. During this period, his friend Anil Kushwaha played a significant motivational role. His nearest neighbor, Dr. Krishna Govind Lodha, who is currently associated with MCH Neurosciences, also provided immense encouragement and consistently inspired him to develop into a disciplined and principled individual at every stage of life.

Dr. Nayak acknowledges the constant encouragement of his wife, Lalita Yadav, who emphasized from the very beginning that attaining a respected position in life would enable him to become an inspiration for others. Her belief in Dr. Nayak’s potential strengthened his determination to move forward despite challenges. He also conveys profound respect for his mentor, Dr. Jamnalal Sharma, who taught him Botany and provided unwavering academic guidance. Dr. Naresh Nayak fondly recalls his childhood in Kherli Phatak, Kota, a small settlement located on the banks of the Chambal River. Growing up in that rural environment naturally nurtured a deep affection for nature. Observing villagers entering forests to collect firewood and prepare food on traditional stoves strengthened his connection with the natural world.

At the same time, witnessing instances where excessive wood cutting led to environmental damage also created awareness and concern within him. Those years were deeply meaningful and formative. While many individuals grow up with comfort and privilege, often described as being born with a golden or silver spoon, Dr. Naresh Nayak experienced continuous struggle. He firmly believes that it was precisely those hardships that built his resilience and determination, and without those experiences, reaching his present stage would not have been possible.

Dr. Nayak shares further childhood memories in which the companionship of certain friends played a deeply influential and guiding role in his life. He first mentions his friend Anil Kushwaha, who stood by him consistently and offered unwavering support throughout different phases of life. Discussing his educational timeline, Dr. Naresh Nayak explains that from Class 1 to Class 8, he had the opportunity to study in a private school. However, unforeseen circumstances arose in 1996 when his father’s JK factory was closed, bringing financial instability to the family. As a result, he had to discontinue his private schooling. Through persistent hard work and resilience, he gradually progressed toward his present stage.

After completing the eighth class, his entire education continued at Jawahar Lal School, located near Bhimganj Mandi station, where he completed his tenth, eleventh, and twelfth standards. Thereafter, he secured admission in Government College, Kota, from where he completed his BSc. He subsequently pursued and completed his MSc, MPhil, and PhD from Government College Kota itself. During his MSc phase, certain challenges created obstacles that prevented him from attaining the position he believed he deserved at that time. Nevertheless, guided by the values instilled by his father, he excelled during his MPhil and was awarded a gold medal, thereby fulfilling his father’s first dream.

Dr. Naresh Nayak once again acknowledges the support of his mentor, Dr. Jamnalal Sharma, who deposited his fees during his MPhil and extended encouragement during his PhD as well. His doctoral research was completed in the field of Nematology, and that academic accomplishment became the foundation of his present professional standing. Furthermore, upon qualifying the NET and SLET examinations, he secured first rank in the Hadoti region. From the residential flat where he lived, he became the first individual to attain higher education up to the MPhil and PhD levels, for which he expresses gratitude to all who supported him along the way.

From the youngest to the eldest, learning can take place at any moment, and therefore, ideals may be many rather than confined to one. As his foremost ideal, Dr. Naresh Nayak identifies his mentor and research guide, Dr. Jamnalal Sharma. His simplicity, thoughtful approach, and natural inclination to help others established him as the primary role model. Talking about other ideals, Dr. Naresh Nayak refers to Mahatma Gandhi as a profound source of inspiration. He expresses a desire to continue living a life rooted in simplicity, drawing strength from Gandhiji’s values. Gandhiji’s deep affection for nature, dedication towards rural development, and courage to raise a voice against injustice have significantly influenced Dr. Naresh Nayak’s outlook.

He believes that if individuals adopt even a single character trait of Mahatma Gandhi, they can shape their lives in a meaningful and successful manner. When speaking of an ultimate and timeless ideal whose influence has continued for nearly 3000 years, Dr. Naresh Nayak mentions Gautam Buddha. The teaching “अप्प दीपो भव,” meaning “Be your own light,” holds special significance for him. According to this philosophy, every individual must create a path independently and accept the outcomes of personal actions. Through consistent effort toward a clearly defined goal, one can illuminate one’s own direction and channel energy productively to achieve desired objectives.

Speaking about hardships, Dr. Naresh Nayak states that human life is incomplete without difficulties. He reflects upon the idea that a person without problems is almost impossible to imagine. If life proceeds without obstacles, then something essential may be missing. Challenges arise in every individual’s life, and in his case, they appeared at an early age.

When he was fourteen years old, his father was employed at the JK factory, which was eventually shut down. With its closure, significant hardships descended upon the family. After completing the eighth class in a private school, he was compelled to discontinue that education and enroll in a government school. Financial pressures intensified from that point onward, and meeting daily necessities required stepping outside the home to work diligently. Following the factory closure, his father became physically disabled, losing both hearing and mobility. Consequently, both brothers were required to interrupt their regular studies and seek employment in order to maintain continuity and support the family.

Dr. Naresh Nayak recalls that during this challenging phase, his neighbor Naresh Sharma observed his circumstances and helped him secure employment at a broom shop, where he began working for 900 rupees per month. Subsequently, he took up work as a waiter at wedding functions and continued in that role for nearly ten years.

Despite these demanding responsibilities, Dr. Naresh Nayak ensured that his education did not suffer. He consistently emphasizes that obstacles are an inevitable part of life, but they must be confronted with courage rather than fear. According to him, challenges are temporary, and just as darkness is followed by light, perseverance eventually brings progress.

In this manner, he completed his BSc while continuing his work at wedding events. Although there were moments of discomfort and embarrassment when friends or teachers happened to see him during such events, he maintained confidence, fully aware that no honest work is inferior or dishonorable.

During his MPhil, financial requirements arose for preparing thesis projects and writing research papers. At a time when he was unable to afford the college fees, his guide, Dr. Jamnalal Sharma, inquired whether the fees had been submitted. That simple question deeply moved him. Without further discussion, Dr. Jamnalal Sharma deposited the fees himself.

From that act of generosity, Dr. Nayak learned that students facing hardship should be supported without hesitation. Later, during PhD registration, he required 1800 rupees, which he did not possess, and no one was willing to lend even a small amount. At that moment, his sister Kalpana found a wallet containing exactly 1850 rupees. This unexpected event appeared almost like a sign to proceed with the registration. Acting with honesty, he went to the location where the wallet had been found and waited for ten minutes in case the owner returned. When no one appeared, he ultimately used the money to submit his PhD registration form.

Dr. Nayak considers it a turning point, believing that had the fee not been paid that day, he might not have attained the title he holds today. From that experience, he developed a firm resolve to assist needy students without waiting for them to ask.

In 2012, Dr. Naresh Nayak successfully completed his PhD and qualified for both NET and SLET examinations. His guide advised him to ensure that these achievements were utilized meaningfully. Having earlier secured the position of university topper during his MPhil and received a gold medal, these academic milestones collectively paved the way toward his present role as an Assistant Professor.

He advocates minimal and mindful usage of resources by strictly following the 3R principle—Recycle, Reduce, and Reuse—so that these resources remain available and beneficial for a long period. Dr. Nayak firmly asserts that without nature, human existence itself is impossible.

Dr. Naresh Nayak warns that current patterns of excessive consumption could lead to severe depletion of resources within the next 25 years. He raises an important question about what explanation will be offered to future generations if such depletion continues unchecked. Therefore, he strongly encourages adherence to the principles of Reduce, Recycle, and Reuse in everyday life.

He particularly advises minimizing plastic usage and avoiding unnecessary packaging. He observes that many young individuals are increasingly attracted to heavily packaged products, whether in food chains or gifting trends, believing that packaging enhances value. However, such practices result in significant environmental damage, as cardboard production requires cutting trees and plastic contributes to pollution. Dr. Naresh Nayak appeals to society to adopt responsible habits and consciously reduce dependence on excessive packaging.
