Dr. Arvind Nagori is an assistant professor at RMV Girls College, Udaipur.
Arvind hails from Udaipur. He completed his school and college education in Udaipur itself. After completing his school education, he did a B.Com. from BN College.
Arvind shares that after his tenth grade, he did not know much about what he wanted to do next. He simply opted for the Commerce stream in high school as people told him it was a good stream and that he could do the CA course later.
Arvind says that after his bachelors, he did an M.Com. as a private candidate. Meanwhile, he also did a Diploma in Marketing and Sales Management from Rajasthan Vidyapeeth in Udaipur. He then did an MBA from Rajasthan Vidyapeeth itself as he still lacked clarity about what he wanted to do next. Thereafter, he enrolled for P.hD.
Arvind says that after his MBA, he worked in the private sector but his job did not give him the satisfaction and stability that he was seeking for. Meanwhile, he had also completed his P.hD. Since his father was a professor, he too thought of making his career in the education sector. He started teaching at RNT PG College in Kapasan. Then he came back to Udaipur owing to personal reasons. He then taught at a government college in Kherwara. Since it was a contractual job, his family advised him to get a permanent job. Therefore, he did a B.Ed.
Whilst pursuing his B.Ed. Arvind also started teaching at a B.Ed. College in Udaipur itself. He liked teaching B.Ed. students so much that he decided to make his career in this field itself. He then did an M.Ed. from Devi Ahilya University in Indore.
Later, when he got to know about the vacancies of assistant professors at RMV Girls College in Udaipur, Arvind applied there and subsequently got selected. Arvind says that at RMV Girls College, he has always tried his best to help the girls studying there. He started a scholarship to help the underprivileged girls studying there. He also started a placement and training center at the college to upskill the girls.
When asked about his role models, Arvind says that he considers himself his own role model.
Arvind thinks that education is a must and that without education, you can’t do anything. However, he says that you gain practical knowledge by working on the ground only. Besides, he says that your education is your guru and your experience teaches you a lot and motivates you as well.
Talking about his mistakes, Arvind says that everyone commits mistakes. But instead of regretting the mistakes that one did in the past, one should move on and focus on the future.
Arvind advises students to identify their strengths and pursue what really interests them.
Arvind likes to work in the education sector because he thinks that it gives him an opportunity to express himself and share his experiences with his students and when his students appreciate his teaching style, it really makes him feel good.
In his spare time, Arvind likes to crack jokes with his group of people. He also likes to watch and make videos.
To aspiring teachers, Arvind advises them to have a bigger vision than to just teach students. Besides, he also advises them to impart practical knowledge of things to their students, apart from theoretical knowledge for their wholesome development.
Sharing his COVID experience, Arvind says that the pandemic taught us that life is very uncertain and that worrying about the future is useless. Besides, it also taught us to value our time because if we don’t value time then it won’t value us either.
Arvind advises people to have a goal otherwise they will never be successful in life.
