A dedicated lecturer, social activist, and fitness enthusiast, Dr. Meenakshi Garg is actively involved with the Rahda Foundation, promoting women's empowerment, child education, and environmental initiatives. She was instrumental in planting 11,000 saplings on seven hills under a reforestation drive. She emphasises the importance of outdoor activities and personal connections, encouraging the youth to limit their digital consumption.

Dr. Meenakshi Garg is a dedicated Lecturer of Chemistry, Social Activist, and Fitness Enthusiast. She is actively involved with the Rahda Foundation, an NGO led by Archana Singh Charan, which focuses on women’s empowerment, child education and empowerment, and environmental initiatives like promoting the "Say No to Plastic" campaign.

As a passionate advocate for fitness, Dr. Garg participates in various running and fitness activities in Udaipur, collaborating with local groups like the Mewari Runners and the famous runner Bindass Govind. Her work seamlessly blends education, social activism, and health to create a positive impact on the community.

Dr. Meenakshi Garg highlights that the Rahda Foundation recently embarked on an ambitious environmental initiative—setting a target to plant trees on seven different hills. With determination and thorough planning, the NGO successfully planted 11,000 saplings across various Aravali hills. The team first scouted the hills to assess their suitability for plantation and then executed the project with the support of labourers. The initiative was further bolstered by collaboration with the Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board and The Trekking Tribe. Together, these efforts made the large-scale reforestation project a success.

Dr. Meenakshi Garg shares that she worked as a guest faculty member at MB College of Science for fifteen years. After the COVID-19 pandemic, she decided to start her own tutorial classes under the name Garg Solutions, where she teaches students from 5th grade to MSc level. During the pandemic, she conducted online sessions, but now she offers offline classes. Students can also connect with her via her YouTube channel, [email protected], where they can ask questions and engage with her educational content.

Dr. Garg shares that her fitness journey began casually with walks and runs around Lake Fateh Sagar. Over time, her interest in fitness grew, leading her to connect with various fitness groups in Udaipur for running activities. Now, she leads her own group called The Trekking Tribe, which includes many women who join her for regular treks on the Aravalli Hills every Sunday. During these treks, they scout the location, ensure safety precautions, and immerse themselves in the natural beauty of the hills in the early morning hours, combining fitness with a love for nature.

As a tuition teacher, Dr. Meenakshi Garg is deeply committed to not only providing the best academic guidance but also instilling strong moral values in her students. Her aim is to help each child become a better person while fostering stronger connections with their families. She observes that many children today tend to spend too much time on their phones or other distractions after school and tuition, so she strives to redirect their focus toward more meaningful activities.

One of the unique approaches she employs at Garg Solutions is holding a weekly group discussion class, where students from grades five to twelve participate. During these sessions, students engage in discussions on a variety of topics, including political, social, and economic issues, rituals, parenting, and childhood. Through these discussions, Dr. Garg encourages students to express their views, while guiding them toward the right path.

In her class, she also emphasises the importance of fundamental values like honesty and punctuality. As a result, her students not only excel academically but also hold her in high respect for the life lessons she imparts.

Dr. Meenakshi Garg was born and raised in Bundi, Rajasthan, where she completed both her schooling and college education. She consistently ranked first from nursery to MSc, with her elder brother, Vishal, serving as her primary inspiration and role model. He motivated her throughout her academic journey, encouraging her to achieve both her NET and PhD.

Notably, Dr. Garg completed her PhD after her marriage. She recalls being an introvert who was deeply focused on her studies, but with the support of her mother-in-law, she gradually became more extroverted. This personal transformation allowed her to expand her horizons beyond academics and embrace a more open and outgoing approach to life.

Dr. Garg believes that in today’s modern world, it is essential to be socially active. However, she observes that many children today tend to be introverted, largely because they spend too much time on digital media and online platforms, neglecting outdoor activities. Her advice to the youth is to work hard and limit their time spent on digital platforms. She encourages them to engage in outdoor activities, connect with nature, and spend quality time with family and relatives, as these experiences bring genuine happiness and fulfilment.

Dr. Meenakshi Garg considers her elder brother and her mother-in-law as her primary role models. However, she believes that role models can change daily, depending on what inspires us in different moments. She strives to adopt the good qualities of people around her, whether it's a child, cobbler, carpenter, relative, or neighbours. To her, anyone can be a source of inspiration.

A line that motivates her deeply is:

“राहगीर से क्या पूछते हो ये राह कहाँ तक जाएगी, दरिया से क्या पूछते हो ये नीर कहाँ तक जायेगा, उठा धनुष साध निशाना, देखते हैं ये तीर कहाँ तक जायेगा।"

Her message to the youth is to keep moving forward in life with determination and resilience, and to always think:

"न थके हैं पैर कभी, न हिम्मत हारी है, हौसला है ज़िंदगी जीने का, इसलिए सफर जारी है।"

(“Neither have my feet ever tired, nor have I lost courage; I have the spirit to live life, and that’s why my journey continues.”)

Dr. Meenakshi Garg has a long list of achievements, beginning with earning numerous certificates throughout her school years for consistently topping her class. In both her 10th and 12th grades, she secured a spot in the top 30 of the Rajasthan state merit list. After her marriage, she continued to excel, participating in several extemporaneous speech competitions and receiving various social awards.

She believes that every good deed and acknowledgment is a significant milestone. According to her, when someone praises or recognizes your efforts, it becomes a lasting achievement, etched into the "dictionary of your life."

Dr. Garg emphasises that as citizens of India, it is our collective responsibility to contribute to the country's development. While digital advancements are crucial, she believes that progress at the grassroots level is equally important. She advises that if we are to advance in the field of agriculture, we must reconnect with our roots. Dr. Garg strongly feels that strengthening the agricultural sector will lead to the overall development of the nation.

She also encourages people not to shy away from physical labour. In her words, "If you work hard, your goal will always be in sight, and success will surely follow."

Dr. Meenakshi Garg thinks that even if she were given a time machine, she wouldn't want to travel back to the past. Instead, she prefers to focus on the present and the future, believing that each age brings its own joys and unique experiences. Her philosophy is to always keep moving forward in life.

She shares her love for mornings, explaining that her group starts trekking around 5:30 AM, completing their trek by 7:30 AM. During this time, they connect with nature and fully enjoy their surroundings. Dr. Garg encourages everyone to incorporate morning activities into their daily routines, as she believes they bring positivity, freshness, and an abundance of energy for the day ahead.
