Dr. Manoj Joshi is working as an Assistant Professor of Law at Pacific University. Prior to this, he was in practice and he has an experience of more than twenty years in the Rajasthan High Court, Jodhpur. After such an experience, he decided to get into the academic field and share his practical knowledge and experience with the students.
At the beginning of his career, Dr. Manoj joined the office of Justice Govind Mathur, who at present is the Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court. He remained there for five years and learned a lot from that office. He gradually started appearing before the benches for arguments in the court and his legal journey kicked off. He says he dealt with writs in relation to Constitutional and civil appeals along with criminal matters.
In 2003, Dr. Manoj started his own practice and started working independently. Since then, he has been practicing in the Rajasthan High Court in all the matters be it civil or criminal. He says he has gained ample experience during that phase as far as practice is concerned.
During the Covid times, Dr. Manoj says he had to come to Udaipur because of the lockdown and was sitting idle at home. Meanwhile, he got an offer from Pacific University to work as an Assistant Professor and since then he has been working in this profession.
Dr. Manoj belongs to Udaipur but since his father was in the education field, they lived out of Udaipur for a long time.
Dr. Manoj shares his success mantra for young lawyers by saying that there is no alternative to hard work. Self-confidence is the key to success and self-confidence is achieved only by continuous hard work. Therefore, hard work and self-confidence are inter-linked and can’t be separated. Hence, you can touch the heights of success by working hard and gaining self-confidence. He adds up by saying that you should never give up thinking it is the end.
Dr. Manoj says in his entire family, he is the only one who pursued law and went into the legal profession. And he got this inspiration from his father to choose law as his career and hence he opted for law as his career option.
Dr. Manoj recommends to the young lawyers that law is the best profession and they should pursue it. He says that you should have effective communication skills to become a successful lawyer because you are expected to argue in court and present your case in a strong way. Also, you should follow the policy of honesty, if you are honest to your profession and your client then it is your core strength that makes you a great lawyer.
