Driven by his passion, Dr. Manish Shukla has helped people quit addiction and lead better lives. He is also associated with many NGOs and is always eager to do social work.

Dr. Manish Shukla is the founder of Pathway Aaina foundation in Mumbai. It is a rehabilitation center for patients with a history of substance abuse. Its objective is to improve mental and addiction-related health issues.

Manish was born and brought up in Mumbai. Since childhood, Manish was always interested in social work.

After his graduation, he met a group of friends who were also interested in social work. He got an internship in an NGO and then thought to take initiative for the rehabilitation of addicted people. Manish continued doing his master's degree with his NGO work. He created an environment that would provide counseling to such people and enable them to come into the mainstream.

Talking about his challenges, Manish says that financial issues were his biggest challenge. His brother supported him with his new setup.

When asked about his role models, Manish says he is inspired by all those clients who are inspired by them and are doing outstanding work in their fields.

For youngsters, Manish says that education and experience both are important. Education gives you the insight and stability to work, and experience enlightens you about grassroots and ground realities.

For aspirants in this field, Manish says to connect to people with disorders, build a rapport with them and make them realize they are comfortable.

During Covid, Manish says that he learned positive things. Everything was positive according to him.
