Following her passion for teaching  from a very young age, Dr. Nidhi has carved a successful career in  the teaching field. Today she is a Principal at MDS School and an inspiration to others in this field.

Dr. Nidhi Maheshwari is the Principal at MDS Senior Secondary School in Udaipur for the last seventeen years. She says that ever since she finished her school she has been teaching kindergarten students and after that she worked as an English Teacher in one of the most renowned schools of U.P. and for some time she also taught Economics there. Soon she got married and shifted to Udaipur.

Dr. Nidhi belongs to Kanpur, U.P. She studied in St. Mary’s School in Kanpur itself.

Dr. Nidhi talks about her childhood memories that she was a very active girl who often participated in dance, drama, choir singing and other extracurricular activities of the school. Also, she was a good athlete as she bagged a medal in an inter-state short distance running tournament during her school time.

Dr. Nidhi says that the Covid phase was a challenging time for her because she is not a tech-savvy person and due to the lockdown, they had to shift their classes to online platforms. She says that she learnt a lot during these times but missed the connection and bonding with the students and teachers that they used to share while schools were running offline. On a personal front, she says that chanting and walking helped her cope with the pandemic situation.

Dr. Nidhi advises the newcomers that if you have the positive attitude, flair and passion for teaching and if you are able to express that through your work, then even if you don’t have the required experience and qualifications but your attitude is positive and genuine then you can come into this profession.

Dr. Nidhi considers Dr. Sushma Saxena as her role model, who is her ex-principal as she placed immense trust in her and helped her settle in school. Dr. Nidhi is highly inspired by her for being very organised, clear and fair. She says that sometimes she even tries to copy Dr. Sushma’s style of work.

Apart from work, Dr. Nidhi is a foodie and she likes to go to various places in Udaipur because of its beauty, peace and calmness. She loves to go on long walks, explore new places and loves to sing, dance and read.

Dr. Nidhi doesn’t consider herself a born leader but she believes that she has imbibed leadership qualities in her during her work experience. She says as a leader, she tries to do justice to everyone by being fair with them and before jumping to conclusions she listens to them.
