Prior to her tenure at Paras Health, she dedicated fifteen years of her life to Fortis Hospital, Jaipur, following her initial training at Apollo Hospital, Hyderabad. Notably, she commenced her journey at Paras Health during the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021, contributing her expertise in diagnosing and treating patients during the critical period.

Elaborating on Paras Health, Dr. Madhu highlights its status as a premier tertiary care centre in Udaipur. Boasting 150 beds, Paras Health houses departments ranging from Internal Medicine and General Surgery to advanced fields like Cardiology, Neurology, and Oncology. Renowned as one of Udaipur's finest corporate hospitals, Paras Health boasts a remarkable patient satisfaction rate of 99%, cementing its reputation for excellence.

Hailing from Bhilwara, Dr. Madhu pursued her education in Udaipur, culminating in her MBBS and MD in Internal Medicine from RNT Medical College. From her formative years, she displayed a keen interest in various subjects, excelling in essay writing and quizzes. Opting for Science-Biology in ninth grade, she secured the top position in eleventh grade and successfully cleared the PMT exam post twelfth grade. Blessed with the support of a joint family and the convenience of her college being nearby, she didn't have to reside in a hostel, facilitating her academic journey.

She commenced her MBBS journey in 1985, initially finding the subjects challenging but gradually developing a strong interest in Pharmacology. Her academic prowess shone as she secured top ranks in both the Rajasthan Pre-PG exam and the All India Level exam. Opting for Internal Medicine, she pursued her MD at RNT Medical College in 1992. Despite her dedication, health issues led her to discontinue her DNB Gastroenterology program at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Delhi. Her professional journey took her to Apollo, Hyderabad, where she began her consultancy career, followed by a move to Fortis in Jaipur in 2006, where she served until 2021.

Dr. Nahar shares about the toughest time in her life during the COVID-19 pandemic. On February 28, 2020, she received an emergency call about a patient named Andrew Carlo. When she went to the ICU the next morning, she found out he was the first COVID-positive patient in Rajasthan. The hospital staff, including 32 members, panicked. Despite efforts, Andrew passed away after being treated for 21 days. This was distressing for her, especially as most COVID-positive patients were being treated by her. She also contracted COVID later on. Joining Paras Health during the second wave added to her challenges. Spending a long time dealing with COVID was very difficult for her as a female physician, she says.

Dr. Nahar holds her father in high regard and considers him her role model. She deeply values their close bond and the expectations he had from her. Inspired by her father's guidance and encouragement, along with the support of her teachers, she found inspiration and motivation to pursue her professional journey.

She emphasises the importance of perseverance and dedication, believing that continuous effort is key to success. According to her, no task is difficult, and she advocates giving one's utmost effort in every endeavour, striving for perfection. Her philosophy underscores the value of relentless commitment and unwavering focus in achieving goals.

Dr. Madhu’s list of achievements is illustrious. Starting with her first accolade in a drawing competition at Maharana Mewar Public School, she subsequently excelled in essay writing and debate competitions, earning numerous awards. Notably, in her eleventh grade, she received the prestigious Swami Vivekanand award for academic excellence. During her MD in Medicine, she further distinguished herself, receiving the esteemed Dr. M Chenna Reddy Award for the best paper, ultimately winning the gold medal. Her contributions as a physician garnered widespread recognition at the societal level, with multiple awards received on Women’s Day and commendations from the Jain community for her dedicated social work.

Dr. Nahar offers valuable advice to aspiring doctors considering opting internal medicine. She highlights the broad scope and depth of knowledge internal medicine offers compared to super specialities. Even if satisfaction isn't immediate, she suggests thorough dedication to the subject before considering other branches, emphasising that no field is too challenging for an internal medicine student. Respect and diligence within one's chosen field are paramount, and she urges patients and attendants to maintain patience, respect for doctors, and understanding of their perspective.

She advises youngsters to maintain a distance from smoking, alcohol, and drugs, discouraging addiction. Citing a recent study, she notes a lower mortality rate among patients attended by female doctors compared to that treated by male doctors, and encourages young females to break social barriers in their field and forge ahead. Her guidance underscores the importance of adopting healthy lifestyle choices and breaking gender stereotypes for professional advancement.
